good boots

Comments On Feb 06, 2014:good boots for a good price.

Additional Comments On Mar 19, 2014:bought these for my 13 yo son, Quality seems good but the buckles are to hard for him to open / close. I thought they would get easier once they were broke in, but they got worse..

Comments On Feb 20, 2014:So... Here is the Short version of a long story. We needed new boots for my son just before race season started last year. I read reviews on all sorts of brands of boots however pretty much everyone was sold out of just about everything Mid March last year. I read review after review about broken buckles but went ahead and bought these simply because there weren't any other options at the time.
The second trip to the track for practice the top buckle on the left boot snapped. The piece is riveted into the boot and as far as I know is not replaceable. I was super SUPER careful buckling his boots knowing about all the problems people have had with these things... So here we are with a pair of $150 paper weights.. I just order him a pair of Alpinestars which is what I've worn for years and never once broke a buckle.. but even if we do, they are replaceable. I would highly encourage you to buy another brand of boots unless FOX has improved this. The other buckles which are still in tact come open all the time as well... Just a very poor quality boot overall and I would never buy them again.

youth size

Comments On Mar 09, 2013:bought these for my daughter, 8. she has an 8.5in foot... got the size 4 to allow a little growth. i like these boots (she loves them) but with a few oppinionated concerns... my boots are old school so im not sold yet on the molded sole, nor the lack of the steel cap as found on the older style sole. the other concern is the lack of an obvious shift pad on the left boot. (maybe this is integrated and the right is made to look the same, or is even unnecesary, im just used to seeing an obvious shift pad) the only actual faults i find with the boot are: there is one buckle that seems it has a molding defect, as it is very difficult to close properly. (even for me, like it doesnt quite line up) and its not very easy to get a leg, knee/shin guards, and pants into the boot. even with the straps nearly maxed out. this may be resolved with a bit of break in time but out of the box i opted to look for a smaller knee pad option. (see my review on fox titan youth knee guards) im sure the buckle issue isnt the norm, and the tight fit with accesories is inherent in the boots intended wearers size so overall a good boot if the "in my opinion" issues are unfounded.... and i didnt have to pay 300 bucks, always a plus.
