Comments On Jun 17, 2013:This product is great I've had it for about 6 months and I have noticed there's been a minuscule level wear on the friction plates, these plates have been through a lot of stress and they hold up EXCELLENT. Always shop from Rocky Mountain

Comments On Jun 04, 2013:Yep, I was skeptical about this at the beginning staring at the price. But, after nearly a year of riding this clutch (without being destroyer, I'm not gentle with it), I can't really tell it worned a lot (2-3 adjustements maybe). I would definetly buy this clutch again.

Comments On May 30, 2013:Definetly skeptical of the cheap price at first but like many other people read a ton of reviews before actually buying. Discs installed easily and could definetly tell the difference after install. To tell the truth, I took my banshee out and clutched the piss out of it to try to burn up the clutch for acouple hours. After not blowing my motor and not getting arrested It surprised me that it grabbed everytime and continues to grab strong til this day.

Comments On May 09, 2013:Great Clutch kit. Went in with no problems and haven't had any problems with it.You wouldn't know if it was OE or not. My Son now owns the bike and still works great. Why buy OE when there's Tusk.

Comments On Apr 09, 2013:My son and I both ride and race YZ's offroad, 125 and a 250. Mine lasted about a month, one gnarly hillclimb and it was toast, swelled till the lever just hit the bar. My son got a couple months out of his, complains about having to constantly adjust it.

Comments On Mar 29, 2013:I got this clutch kit for my old 1984 XR500R, it fits good and works fine, no problems after 2 years and 30+ good rides on it. A great value for the price. I will probably buy this kit again if needed in the future, but for all I know it could last 10 years or more because I don't slide my clutches very much. A satisfied customer, thank you :)

Comments On Mar 15, 2013:I purchased a tusk clutch for my YZ450f based on recommendations from a couple of friends that had good experinces with that specific part. I found the clutch to be extremely sensitive to engine temperature requiring constant adjustment. I got the clutch hot enough during a desert race that it would not release. My clutch basket and hub have no notching, and I have been running rotella oil. I have removed the clutch after 9 hours of operation, and will be replacing it with an OEM clutch. Upon removal, the clutch did not show any signs of damage. The only conclusion I can draw is that the friction material expands too much with temperature.
Further inspection revealed that the teeeth on the clutch disks are slightly nearrower than OEM, which will cause clutch basket notching sooner. I have been pleased with other tusk products, but This one is definitely not worth the money.

Comments On Mar 05, 2013:This was my first ever clutch rebuild on a Dirt Bike. I watched the installation video posted on the RockyMountain website and found the install to be quite easy! Parts seem to work perfectly and you can't beat the price on the Tusk brand. A++

Comments On Feb 22, 2013:I've never had to replace a clutch in my life. I let my friend borrow my bike and after 1 hour the clutch was gone (stock clutch). I replaced the plates with this tusk set and it worked great! Not sure on wear time as I sold the bike a year later but I never had any issues.

Comments On Feb 24, 2013:Easy to install, clutch performed nicely afterwards. I can't say how it held up long term as I sold the bike not long after

Comments On Feb 20, 2013:I bought this clutch kit for my 06 cry250r it was quick and easy to install. My clutch barely used to work and grabbed when i feathered it. This kit fixed it quick and simple. Well worth the money

Comments On Feb 18, 2013:Just like any other tusk thing on this site, it worked great. performed just as expected but at the cheapest price. I will definitely be buying these from now on when I need to do my other quads and dirtbikes.

Comments On Feb 15, 2013:Clutches wear out fast on a 2stroke. i would rather buy 2 cheap clutches in a season than one really expensive clutch.

Comments On Feb 02, 2013:The clutch in my bike was whipped so I bought this for cheap and installed it myself and it made all the difference in the world. So far it has about 40 miles of abuse on it and it seems to be holding up very well! I am very impressed with the tusk clutch kit so far!

Comments On Jan 30, 2013:The fiber plates swell with use/abuse and render the clutch useless. Not a viable product IMO.

Comments On Jan 28, 2013:I run this kit on my YZ250 for single track, technical, gnarly terrain...has been great! Minimal drag and adjustment during the last two or three years! I run 10W30 oil and add 2 to 3 ounces of Lucas Oil Stabilizer...really works great for me!

Comments On Jan 17, 2013:These work great and hold up well with a standard clutch. I have used them in 3 different Yamahas and a KTM. They do not hold up with a rekluse clutch I bought 2 different sets for a rekluse and both set lasted only 2 2-hour rides. Stock ones are currently going on over a year now.

Comments On Jan 15, 2013:can't beat the price and the quality each set gets me through a 5 2 hour hare scrambles and countless hours of training.

Comments On Jan 07, 2013:I was worried about buying a cheap clutch for a two-stroke, but this thing made a believer out of me. It held up great for some seriouisly abusive riding. I will definitely use Tusk again.

Comments On Dec 01, 2012:Steels and fibers are good and I would use them again... The HD springs are junk., they fade to quick. Make sure you have a quick adjust clutch perch if you run the springs.

Comments On Dec 03, 2012:worth the money. usually i go through about two sets of clutches a month this is by far the best because its cheap and lasts longer than the expensive brands. Fairly easy to install also.

Comments On Nov 27, 2012:I have used these in a few bikes since they came out many many years ago, everything from 125s, 250s, big thumpers, etc. and I have never had an issue. I finally put a kit in my Rekluse equipped KTM 300 last winter and it works just as well as the stock fibers that came out. I didn't need the steels but this kit is a fraction of the cost of anything else.

Comments On Nov 24, 2012:I use these with my rekluse in my 450 they wear even and last for a good amount of time. i abuse my clutch and these plates hold up to it.

Comments On Nov 15, 2012:I have had great luck with these kits. I have used them on 125,250,450 & 500cc motorcycles and have had no issues. They are definately the best bang for the buck!

Comments On Nov 15, 2012:Put this in my CR500 along with a Hinson basket and Tusk springs. I had bad clutch drag before, and after putting these parts in, the clutch works smooth and hooks up every time. I will buy this kit again.

Comments On Nov 04, 2012:Plates worked fine after they were installed and clutch was adjusted to spec. After 100 miles of desert riding with minimal clutch use the steels were warped. Bike would stall when coming to stops and would lurch forward with the clutch disengaged.

Comments On Nov 05, 2012:If you race a four stroke hard you are going to eat some clutches. I have payed for the expensive clutches and it eats them just as fast. Why pay three times as much for a clutch that does not last 3 times as long? I will keep buying them for my fleet of race bikes.

Comments On Oct 31, 2012:Clutches are so easy to change and these are so cheap that I can't justify spending more money for any other clutch. Even my kid's RM85L(you clutch it all the time) lasts.

Comments On Oct 11, 2012:I knew my clutch plates were getting bad, but I didn't realize how bad until I installed new ones. These are AWESOME!!! I have a hard time beleiving the more expensive clutch plates could be much better because these are smooth as butter. And RMATV provides an awesome instructional video to install these.

Comments On Oct 05, 2012:Perfect fit including the first friction disc which goes over the judder. Operation is buttery smooth, no slippage, no fade. Every bit as good as OEM except 25% of the cost! If it lasts half as long as OEM I'll be extatic!

Comments On Sep 04, 2012:I have well over 200 hrs of rugged trail riding and slipping the clutch all day long to make it over obstacles. This clutch has held up very well. Use good oil and you will love it. I will buy it again if it ever wears out!

Comments On Aug 06, 2012:Bought these for my YZ450, they worked fine for easy trails, but had some real warping problems (clutch would not disengage) when they got a little hot (tight single track trails). Returned them and went back to OEM.

Comments On May 21, 2012:Inner disk did not fit on my XR650R. When rest of kit was run with old inner disk, initial period of adjustment was really long. Springs are good! But they are EBC, in a separate package. Two rides in, and it seems to be settling. Don't know how long it will last.

Comments On Apr 17, 2012:Spend the extra money. Spent one day at the track and a few days in Moab. Clutch worked good on the track but as soon as I hit some tough climbs in Moab it gave out. Wouldn't recommend it.

Comments On Apr 14, 2012:Springs are noticeably stiffer than stock. Have several xc races on the kit and no problems. Bites hard and doesn't slip. Only needed to adjust once after installation- after 2 races and a lot of practices.

Comments On Mar 13, 2012:Got this clutch to save some money but was very disappointed the plates stick in the bascket and the adjustment is constantly changing also after only a few rides it was slipping. Not for track or racing

Comments On Mar 09, 2012:I have run two of these on two different previous bikes that I have had. I wasn't expecting much, but they really hook up well and last as long as the clutches that cost 2x as much. I hope they make them available for more bikes, because it's not available for my '06 525 EXC, but it available for my '02 300 MXC.

Comments On Feb 04, 2012:Clutch has been grabby from the time I installed it. Will probably go OEM on this one. Usually love tusk products. This one just didn't deliver.

Comments On Jan 01, 2012:I purchased the tusk clutch kit with heavy duty springs in december after i had a severe accident due to my clutch slipping. The installation was a breeze and took less then an hour from start to finish. Since then i have ridin my atv a number of times and it performs betterthen when it was new . I would definitely recommend this product and i will surely order from rocky mountain atvmc again

Comments On Aug 19, 2011:The clutch performs excellent. I threw it in lastnight and went to the track. Didnt adjust anything, my 450 started in gear and then suffered extreme clutch abuse, ie. slipping it hard in 3rd gear in, 2nd gear bearms. It hooks up better than stock! I'm a believer.
Additional Comments On Dec 23, 2011:I went hillclimbing the next week. The clutch engages so hard that it finally did away with my stock rear sprocket! Cheap and high perf? Wow.

Comments On Dec 20, 2011:No problems after about 30 hours on this clutch!

Comments On Sep 02, 2010:I bought this kit to replace the OEM clutch in my TRX250R. I was a little hesitant at first because the price is so low compared to all the other brands, but I am very happy I went ahead and bought it! This clutch feels and grips just as good as any other clutch I have used, and the price is a steal! It is also holding up great! I will continue to buy the Tusk Clutches as long as they are available.
Additional Comments On Dec 14, 2011:Been riding with this clutch for over a year now. It is still working as good as the day I put it in! Awesome clutch!

Comments On Dec 08, 2011:Most of the time I say that Tusk products are excellent and worthy substitutions of the name brand. This is a rare case where I was unimpressed. The thickness of the fibers was actually thinner than the worn down old OEM friction disks. There was also some corrosion. I returned these and stuck with OEM.
