Comments On Apr 10, 2013:EBC Clutch lined up perfect easy install, some reviews say the springs are too stiff, I did not notice much difference if any. Clutch hooks up great and made my bike alot quicker off the line

Good clutch for stock engine

Comments On Mar 27, 2013:I have bought 2 of these clutch kits and one is on my stock dvx 400 and the other was on my big bore/stroker z400. The one on my DVX is in great shape and hasn't let us down yet. The one I put on my z400 is now in the trash because I toasted it in 1 ride. If you have stock power level it's fine but it doesn't survive on a higher horsepower machine.

Needs better instructions!

Comments On Feb 10, 2013:It would be nice if they'd list in the instructions if you line up the cut-out notch on the ears of the frictions, or stagger them sixty degrees like the stock Yamaha ones on a Blaster.
It seems like if you lined up all the notches, the clutch assembly would be out of balance. One ear at six o'clock has a single notch, but the ear at nine o'clock has two notches.
Other than that, the clutch seems to work just fine on both my YFZ450s, in the dunes, with paddles!

A bit spendy for a Yamaha TTR 230

Comments On Jun 25, 2012:There aren't a lot of options when replacing a Yamaha TTR 230 clutch pack. This is definitely better than stock, I am still recovering from the cost. Hope it lasts a much as it cost.

Excellent Clutch Kit

Comments On May 16, 2012:I've never replaced a clutch in an atv before but this was a piece of cake. Just remember to soak the new parts in oil overnight before installing. I was worried about new heavy duty springs being too much for the wife but neither of us noticed any difference in clutch lever resistance over the stock springs.

Comments On Jan 12, 2011:Installed in my RM250, clutch held up fine for a few MX rides. Took it apart after clanking noises came from the clutch side. Found one clutch finger broken off and floating around inside clutch cover (this damaged the clutch basket). Furthermore a couple of the plates were cracked or broken.

Comments On Feb 02, 2010:I ride a 2003 Honda CR250 every week of the year at lest once and half the time twice a week. This clutch lasts me a whole year which is what i got out of the factory clutch,only EBC is much less expensive and comes complete with Heavy springs fibers and steel plates-awesome product!

Comments On Oct 08, 2009:This clutch kit is much better than stock clutch. Clutch plates are high quality, and friction plates are much more resilient than stock ones. Precise clutch feel and strong grab make this kit outstanding. I have used Tusk and like them too, but the EBC is the best I've tried yet (I haven't tried Hinson, but RMATV/MC doesn't carry them, so I don't bother changing to Hinson plates).

Okay for the money, BUT.......

Comments On Apr 26, 2009:I installed on my 07 KX450F and seemed to work well first run. Although I had to change oil after first run due to excessive new clutch debris. I do alot of desert riding and it seems I'm always having to re-adjust this new clutch. I have since ordered a Pro X kit from RM, and plan on changing. Although I use EBC kits for my 2-stoker and I'm very pleased, I was not really impressed with kit for my KX450F.

Comments On Jan 07, 2009:Went through my stock clutch fairly quickly with my engine mods. EBC clutch so far seems to have at least twice the life and strength of stock. Heavier springs will make the clutch a little stiffer.

Comments On Aug 13, 2008:I was a little scared about changing my clutch at first, but the clutch kit came with detailed instructions which make installation a snap. Clutch is holding up nicely to my extreme riding, it has never slipped, and after several weeks of riding shows no wear, I will purchase again.

Comments On Jun 04, 2008:Relatively inexpensive, easy to install, several hundred miles of Mojave Desert trails and "roads", several hundred more OrEgon logging roads and doubletrack trails. So far I've got absolutely no complaints. If it ever does die I will purchase the same clutch again.

Comments On Apr 29, 2008:I race Hare-Scrambles & I run a YZ 250. I put this clutch in to replace a 3yr old stock clutch. Everytime the clutch heated up it would let a bunch of slack in the cable causing me to stall in the middle of the trail. It was almost impossible to adjust properly as it kept changing. I pulled over 4 times alone in the 1st lap to adjust the clutch.

Comments On Mar 16, 2008:Purchased for a KFX450. I will start off by saying that I race the 450 open A class. "motocross". I used this clutch for about 1hr and then the fiber plates blew apart in my motor! I highly recommend using the OEM/stock clutch on any bike. A litle more $ but it's the best you can buy.

Comments On Dec 28, 2007:Put a EBC clutch in my YZ400 and promptely burned it out within 100 miles. Stock clutch lasted 3 years. New EBC clutch lasted 1 day. I expected a little more from them. Never again.

Comments On Oct 22, 2007:Clutch action is not as smooth as the original KTM clutch action. If the bike sits for more than a week the bike lurches when put into gear the first time for the day. Not overly impressed - was expecting more from EBC. The clutch does seem to take abuse (heat) well.
