This Works

AARON in MI

Comments On Jan 18, 2014:Installed in Competition Series slip-on on 2005 TRX450R. Brought noise down substantially versus the Stage 3 insert that was in it (the stage 1 and 2 inserts were not available to me). The sound is not as quiet as the OEM muffler, but it's about equal to a quiet dirt bike such as a CRF250R. I would call it a happy medium of performance and sound between a choked-up stock muffler and a loud and raspy open aftermarket unit. 5 stars.

No Power Lost

Comments On Sep 05, 2013:Works great to reduce the db's. The design is prone to plugging up with muffler packing. Be sure to take it off and clean it regularly, especially if you have a new pipe

It lowers the db, but it lowers performance too.

Comments On Dec 28, 2012:It is very easy to install. For my KFX450R, take the end cap off and there is a recessed area that it fits right into. The flange was slightly thinner than the recessed area, so it rattled a little, but not bad. The db's are difinitely reduced by a very noticeable amount. Performance was not reduced at lower rpms, but the reduced diameter of the quiet core pipe definitley robs some mid and upper rpm power. Usually the atv would easily wheelie while riding in the woods/trails in 3rd adn 4th gears with just little rises in the trail. This was not happening with the quiet core installed. Still if you are going somewhere that requires reduced db's then this will get your atv qualified.

Quiet and Loud

John in MS

Comments On Nov 30, 2012:Really quiets the noise down at low rpm to a tolerable level and still has a good note when you get on it. Works with the factory spark arrestor too, keeps the rangers happy. It also helped my backfiring when cold, didn't need to add a FI optimizer.
