Comments On Aug 08, 2012:I've had this helmet for about two summer months now and couldn't be happier. The venting is awesome ! You can feel the air going over your head. I had an el'cheapo before this and didn't realize the weight difference until i had one in each hand. You cant tell the fox is on your head it so light. The styling is great ! Very sharp looking.I do agree about the roost shield causing lift. Not to the extreme of yanking your head straight up but it does take a little getting used to. Now that there on sale i'll be picking one up for the wife.

Comments On Jun 09, 2012:Out of the box the helmet looks great and I received a lot of complements on the way it looked. However, I had issues with the helmet once I started riding with it. The first thing I noticed immediately was that the helmet felt heavy in the rear. In addition, the cheek pads were quite snug for a large, although my ears fit nice inside. Prior to this, I was using a Bell Moto 8 and measured my head and matched it against fox's sizing chart prior to ordering this helmet. Although soft, the cheek pads feel like they are wrapped in sweat shirt material. It is quite comfortable sitting in the AC and I'm sure would be nice during the winter months or in other climates; but I am in Florida and it will be 90 degrees for the next several months. I have never sweat so much... maybe it was because the Bell helmet was that much better ventilated. When you take the cheek pads out, you can see vent holes coming from the side of the helmet. However, with the density of the cheek pads, I don't think they do much for air flow. My next issue is that the helmet visor creates a bazaar amount of lift. When you start moving fast, your head can get yanked by the lift it produces. Coupled with the rear being heavy, this effect will have you looking at the sky in a split second. This is another issue I have never experienced with a helmet.
The look is the helmet's only saving grace. I would gladly spend twice as much on a comfortable, ventilated, properly weighted helmet that came in a zippered travel back with an extra visor and cheek pads.
