Comments On Apr 01, 2013:It's a good idea to change them when you change sprockets. I've had zero issues with mine 50 hours so far on them.

Comments On Feb 27, 2012:You're here because you rounded out the hex or the nuts, My stock was 6mm, the 8mm is alot better. TIP: Use anti sieze aboue the threads; turn the nut, not the allen wrench.

Comments On Feb 21, 2012:When you have to keep re-tightening the sprocket bolts it's time to replace them. I replaced my stock ones with these two years ago and have not touched them since.

Comments On Feb 10, 2012:This kit replaced the sprocket bolts on a '05 CRF250X. The stock bolts (@ least $2 a bolt/no nut)had 6mm Allen holes. A well used Snap-On hex socket and a little corrosion the 3rd time removing them rounded them out. Much to my delight the Primary Drive kit had 8mm sockets that can take the torque better. Plus you get the nylock nuts and SS washers all for cheap. Such A Deal!

Comments On Sep 29, 2010:I love my '06 KTM 525EXC; but the sprocket bolts are a real weak link on this bike & expensive to replace. They loosen up regularly despite the use of locktite and at one point I actually sheered all of the sprocket bolts in half on a ride.
These bolts and nuts are much stronger than stock and seem to stay more secure. At first I tried them with no locktite at all and they did loosen up after a few rides - so I add locktite now and don't have any more issues. I've purchased at least three of these kits now because I always want to have a spare set around. It's worth it.

Comments On Apr 26, 2010:They look a lot nicer than OEM, and the heads don't round out as easily too. Very heavy duty!

Comments On Feb 04, 2010:Nice deep 8mm allen heads with nylock nuts. Have tried 2 other brands...Lightning Bolt allen heads were very shallow and rounded easily. Tusk were okay in that they had deep heads, but were only 6mm instead of 8mm so was difficult to break the locktite when taking off. These Primary Drives are by FAR the best of the 3 I've tried l

Comments On Jul 19, 2009:put them on my rm 250 and they work great. but they are not the standard 12mm head its a 1/2 in nut and its less prone to strip like stockers or oem

Comments On Apr 06, 2009:Works perfectly. I would recommend using some blue thread lock just in case.

Comments On Feb 15, 2009:Perfect parts, larger hex tip drive makes stripping the heads less likely.

Comments On Nov 27, 2008:These are good strong bolts, grade 10.9 which is the equivalent to SAE grade 8. The only thing that I did not like is that the nuts require a 13mm wrench instead of the much more common 12mm. One more wrench to bring along on the trail.

Comments On Mar 14, 2008:Working great. Never had to buy these prior to this need (have second set of wheels that I needed to put sprocket and rotor on) so nothing to compare to other than stock. Have never had a problem with stock or the Primary Drive items, so, give them a 5 for being just as good (at least) and way cheaper cost.

Comments On Oct 23, 2007: My old bolts were a bit damaged. Needed new ones and these were a great price. Showed up to my house all shiny and chromed/nickel plated. Seemed stronger than stock and look good. Just remember to only use the allen key side to hold them in place to lightly installing and then when torqueing down. Use the nut side to do all the hard tightening or you will damage any brands allen keyed head.
