Good grip but dont fit as good as OEM

Comments On Mar 16, 2013:Used one on my 04 KX 500 and doesnt fit correctly around the tank, its like the cover is too wide for the seat, no problem though as its been there a year and no signs of wear.
Bought one recenty for a 05 KTM 250 EXCF and it lifts the rear of the seat up 3/4 inch maybe due to tension of the thicker material but looks crap with new plastics. I wanted to buy the Attack Graphics pro series that was cheaper but unavailable.
I honestly wont buy again unless i have no choice

Comments On Mar 13, 2013:Does what it supposed to, high grip better than stock. Fit was also good and had some extra material to trim off, but extra is better than not enough, probably could use with seat hump and have enough material to still cover.

Comments On Jan 18, 2013:snaged my factory cover on a tree limb. this new one is alot stronger have had it threw the brush many times ripped my pants and only leaves a little scratch/ scuff on the cover rubbs right off

Comments On Oct 24, 2012:Other than the cost to have it R&R'd on my seat pan, this is a great value. If you are proficient in simple upholstery you save big time. Great traction for wet use and no chaffing in the dry. No regrets - get it!

Comments On Oct 16, 2012:Grips well, actually tore up some of my old jeans after 2 days of hard riding. Only downfall is it's hard to get the ground in dirt out of the little grippy things. I may need to try a stiff bristle brush

Gripper seats are a major improvement over stock.

Comments On Dec 30, 2011:So far I have about 200 miles of single track and desert on this cover and it's holding up well to the abuse. The gripper design assists with keeping the rider in position and works very well on near vertical down hills even when wet and muddy.

Comments On Oct 05, 2011:I didnt know what to expect as far as wear on these covers...but has stood up well over the months..I waited to review to see if I would have issues...but none so far...was a little tricky to install...but left outside in sun before installation and it was much easier...also with my application I dont know if it would have been easy without my long nosed air stapler...it was a must to get in the tight groove in seat pan

Comments On Oct 01, 2011:Fits good, looks good. Leave it in the sun for an hour before trying to install it. In the winter, I also have set my oven for the lowest temp (150 degrees) and once the stove was to temp, I turned it off, and then put the cover on a cookie sheet for 20-30 minutes. I use both methods to make the cover softer and pliable. It is so much easier to stretch and form.

Comments On May 31, 2011:The locator pockets on front and rear take half the work out of installing.The rest is easy go, just don't pull it too hard as any cover can tear. These covers aren't too grippy where they eat your pants up. I was just getting ready to order one for another bike and wrote this review. Price cant be beat!

Comments On Feb 14, 2011:First off I think this is a lot better seat cover than the One Industries one, i like that it is already somewhat molded to the shape it needs to be, i have a friend that got the one industries seat cover and it was thin and lasted about a month before it was worn smooth out and tearing in multiple places.
This is the second FX seat cover i have bought, the first was on my dirtbike and while installing it the cover tore just a little bit but it never got any bigger. i just got my seat cover for my LTR450 and installed it, the same thing happened, it tore a little, right behind the fx logo on the back. hopefully the tear wont get any bigger. other that that i really like this seat cover. i will continue to but them when needed.

Comments On Jan 09, 2011:This is a good looking seat cover, I would recommend however that you take it to a upholstery shop to have it installed on the seat. Not quite a snug fit, they had to restitch the rear of the cover and the logo was installed off center so they had to fix that also. I had them install the cover and it looks great after another $75.00 for the extra work they did.

Comments On Aug 14, 2010: Had to replace my KTM cover, which fail & are no good, and bought it on these reviews. It is a great product. Installing properly is the trick to have a nice finish. You need a very strong stapler, contact cement, common sense, and the instructions to be successful. The contact cement dries to the pan & takes the stress off the cover/ staples which may tear when in use. Don't over stretch either. Use the cement as you go along, it will set up fast but is readjustable. FX.com has a video tutorial. 30 minute job. Highly recommend. Looks great, well made, and fabric should last a long time:]

Comments On Apr 05, 2010: Very good cover, especially considering the measly $40.00 I paid for it. Installation was fairly simple, hard part was getting staples to actually go thru & grip the super-hard seat-frame. The cover itself is pretty tough, haven't torn it or even seen any signs of wear @ all on it & it's goin' on 5 yrs now. Rough textue helps keep ur butt in place on the seat where it belongs, even in wet, mucky conditions, definitely a good bang-for-your buck.

Comments On Aug 02, 2009: Purchased for a 1998 KDX220. This is terrible to install, I would suggest that you find another brand. Once you take your old seat cover off you are screwed. I don't think I'd ever buy one of these again! We'll see how it works on the trails.

Comments On Apr 09, 2009:This cover for a 1990 cr500 is way to narrow! Followed the instructions included with the cover & as I pulled the side panels over the side...RIP! So I tacked it & pulled the other side...RIP! Do Not Pull On The Sides they will rip. For a $45.00 seat cover this thing sucks!!! Now I'll have to sew my own sides on the top portion just to use. The actual top portion seems great but the sides & under portion (staple into) are junk!!!

Ditch the stock seat cover

I can move all over and still have better control of my 400ex than with the stock seat as I slid all over the stocker way too easy. If you are even remotely aggressive, then you need this. It took a total of about 15 minutes to install, looks better and (mine especially) stands up to so much more abuse than the stocker.

Comments On May 20, 2008:Purchased for Z400. Nice grip, looks good, but was a pain to install, took many tries to get on straight and with no wrinkles. Would not have bought if I knew special tools were required (air/electric staple gun). Hand staple gun was not powerful enough, the electric one I bought for this barely got the job done. Description should note this.

Comments On Feb 27, 2008:Putting this on my LT-Z400 was a chore but once it was on the fit and finish are great. The feel of the seat is good. The material is really tough too. Overall it's a great seat cover.

Comments On Feb 25, 2008:The cover went on pretty easily, and stretched well; but the first ride after I installed it, I noticed a tear along the back of the seat. The funny thing is I didn't even crash on that ride, or lean my bike against anything that could have torn it. Maybe the material is too thin. I won't buy again.

Comments On Feb 19, 2008:I have a CRF450r and I'm impressed with the way this seat cover fits on my stock seat and it is wearing extremely well. No tears and it still fits tightly. But be ready for a battle to get this baby on. Not the cover's fault, but to get it tight, you will want to have someone help you stretch and hold it b/c staple guns dont penetrate the pastic seat very well. A 2 person job for sure and you'll need patience and strong fingers.
