Comments On Apr 30, 2013:Replaced some very old, worn out tires with this one and the M403 front tire. Two rides in and I'm happy. Seem to be holding up well. Sometimes I think my old ties actually had more grip, but I'm fairly new to the sport, so what do I know. I still like them.

Comments On Apr 12, 2013:We race hare scrambles and run on a lot of rock. This tire holds up the best to the rock with good traction for mud. We only change tires for deep mud, hard pack or sand.

Comments On Mar 05, 2013:This is a really good rear mx tire. Its slightly cheaper than what i usually run but works very well in its intended terrain. I do stay away from the front m403, but the m404 is a good rear for sure.

Comments On Feb 24, 2013:Great traction and wear, held up decently over large rocks, but if you ride a lot on rocky terrain get the 604. Otherwise, you will be looking at a few missing knobbies.

Comments On Feb 07, 2013:Im an over 50 mx rider, I have ran the m404 on the rear all last season riding every weekend on east tx red clay track and this tire has held up fantastic. Granted i ride at about a good novice speed, so for me this tire is best, extremely durable, traction is great.

Only tire I will ever use

Comments On Jan 22, 2013:I've tried many other tires and they all chunk and fall apart instead of wearing out. This is the only tire I have found that holds together for all terrains. They also last the longest. Only tire I will ever put on the 450.

Comments On Dec 29, 2012:I recently changed from the Dunlop MX51 because the durability. The Bridgestone lasted much longer than the MX51 but I did notice the side nobbies began to crack after 10 rides on groomed Motocross tracks. The Bridgestone were twenty dollars cheaper than the Dunlop but now they have also raised their tire prices.

Comments On Nov 25, 2012:great traction, corners excellent with 403 front, wear is typical of a rear tire on intermediate to hard terrain. probably one season out of it. about 300 miles and has some wear and chunks out of center knobs but still good. full throttle on these bikes will spin and wear any tire

Comments On Oct 20, 2012:If there is a better tire made, I have not found it. A few come close, and some excel in particular situations. But, for everything from the rocks, sand, single track in Utah, to the riding in Baja. This IS the tire to have IMO.
Pros - above average wear and the ability to be so good in all situations. Good price.
Cons - Once you are down to 50 - 60% tread, the traction diminishes a great deal.

Comments On Sep 11, 2012:Put this tire on my yz/wr 400 hybrid. So far it has 2 harescramble races on it (2hr races, lots of sharp rocks, roots, mud, hardpack, loam....) and a few trail rides and is just now starting to show signs of wear. I can't decide if I will put my other m4 on for the next race or just run this one again! It also really helped with bump compliance. flexes really well, good side knobs too. The decent dunlop I used to run looks like a shmuck compared to this one!

Excellent tire on my ktm 300

Comments On Jun 27, 2012:This is by far my favorite rear tire i've tried.. it wears really well (got about 500 rough desert miles out of this last tire on my ktm). Nearer towards the end of its life it chunks but thats no big deal because its being replaced. I highly recommend this one.. I've tried the maxxis desert IT and dunlop d739 and prefer this one anyday over them

Crack and chunk

Comments On Jun 25, 2012:Over all this is a very average tire. I ride very aggressive and when this tire is opened up on rocky terrain it cracks and chunks out. I have been using metzeler tires six days extreme which hold up better but offer a more numb feeling of the rear end. This tire offers a better rider feed back but at the expense of WEAR/LIFE. Just got a M604 to replace and crossing my fingers; KX450F

Comments On Jun 24, 2012:I feel this tire provides pretty good traction. Maybe not quite as good as a MX51 Dunlop but close. Where it excels is in the feed back you get from the tire! I believe it provides noticeably better feed back than the MX51 and wear has been excellent!! I am a B rider that rides primarily track with an occasional trail ride.

Excellent tyre for the average rider

Comments On Jun 14, 2012:I am very much an average rider and these tyres are perfect for me. They seem to work well in most conditions from mud to rock. They are not perfect but good enough. They are easy to fit and give pretty good life. I am sure there are better tyres and everyone has an opinion as to what is best but these just suit me. I ride a 2007 KTM 450 in Victoria, Australia. The conditions are sometimes rocky, sometimes muddy and sometimes dry and dusty but these seem to take it all. If you ride similar conditions you should give them a go.

Good Tough Tire

Comments On May 27, 2012:I bough this tire to replace the stock Dunlops my wr250f came with. Got the 403 for the front too. I got them in 90 for the front and 110 for the rear, one size bigger than stock.
This tire really hooks up on the loose stuff, climbs hills well. It seems indestructible. Only thing, it's kind of a rough ride on the fire roads. I might consider getting a trials type tire next to see how that goes. However this tire is probably the best in the mud and loose dirt.
THe front tire is amazing. I like the feel of a slightly larger front tire, it smooths the bumps out a little and grips better in the turns.

Comments On May 07, 2012:I have used Bridgestone M404's for years and loved them but recently the compound seems to have changed. They still offer excellent grip but they are wearing faster than they used to and are chunking and cracking all over the tyre when run in rocky conditions. I ride a WR450F.

I was thinking what kind of tire I should have used for a river sand track and holy crap hooked up everywhere. Will buy again. I have a combo of the m404 120/80x19 And Maxxis surcross Maxxis is sketchy. And I live In CO and our dirt here doesnt hold moisture so the m404 had a amazing hook up. Plus it has a amazing roost

Comments On Dec 03, 2010:This tire lasted longer than any of the Dunlop?s that I had on the rear of the Monster KX450F. It came stock on my kx450f 2010 and I did a lot of riding on all types of tracks from sandy to hard pack and the tire gave me very good feedback. It is the only tire that I run on the rear of my KX450F's. Love the way they last!!!

Comments On Mar 29, 2010:This tire is a good tire. It gets pretty good traction and power slides in a consist fashion. I'm guessing it works well in mOtocross, but for off-road, its luke warm. It replaced the 402, but I find it a sad replacement. It is better than most tires out there, but lacks ultimate traction the 402 had. I and the guys I ride with like big traction at all times and the 404 comes in as just good. For off-road, especially difficult single track, I would try to find another. Also, its carcass is super light, so resulted in the first puncture flat I have every had.

Excellent Grip

Comments On Mar 16, 2010: I went into a hare scramble having never used Bridgestone. I bought the soft 403 for the front tire and 404 rear. I ride hard and confidence came right away and performed great. Predictable power slides that would drive forward in the corners and would hook up perfect as the bike stood up while pinned. The front had traction and grip so good that all I had to be concerned with was my riding and not so much the surface and would just stick when standing on the brakes. Great match in moist/ loose conditions. Climbed me out of bad situations. Wear was good also. I'm sold and not changing. Can't go wrong.

Comments On Feb 06, 2010:M404 and M403 won product of the year by Motocross Action magazine a couple of years ago. They come standard on KX250Fs, which is what I have. I think they have more traction than the standard Dunlop tires that come on CRFs. I've used it on 15+ rides and they've done great by me so far.

M404 Good all around tire

Comments On Dec 22, 2009:B class rider.I ride Sand/embedded rock/loose rock/ and rooted trails and did not have any issues with traction unless ground was slick and slimy. Longivity of tire is average 300-350 miles. I consider this 2nd to the Michelin S12. M204 is great for Muddy or soft terrian, with dry conditions longivity is around 230-280miles and is still one of my top 3 tires. Price determines which is selected.

Comments On Sep 16, 2009:This tire is so much better than the stock Honda tire. It lasts twice as long as a the stock tire and has a much better tread pattern & hook up. This is my new favorite rear tire!

Well rounded tire

Comments On Sep 15, 2009:I have a few mx rides/races on this tire and so far its been ok. Hard terrain is so so, nothing bad but not the greatest. In well prepped loam it does its job pretty well although I found the Kenda Wahougal to hook up better on race day conditions. The biggest highlight is the wear, i am very impressed with how little wear is showing so far...Not a bad tire choice but i will likely be looking for something better.

Comments On Aug 26, 2009:This is my rear tire of choice. Works great in all conditions. After trying all the brands I have settled on Bridgestone for good. Wears better than any of the other tires that hook up as well. Only issue is it will chunk some after lots of wear. But by then its time to replace anyway.
