    Great tire

My 450X is plated for the road, but I ride off road a lot. The front is DOT, but the rear is not. Both are holding up better than the stock tires that came on my bike and work great off road. I ride desert, rocks, loose dirt, packed dirt, and everything else except mud. Tires are very predictable and hook.

    Very bad tire

I bought a Pirelli Scorpion XCMH back tire for my KTM. After 3 rides the tire is almost done. It was used only in trail rides, with roots and some rocks. The traction wasn't that good and I had to ride it at 9 psi to actually get good traction. They must have changed the compound since everybody says it's a good tire. It's really really bad, I will never buy again Pirelli tires..

Performance and Stability 2nd to None

I purchased the front tire to match the rear MT66 tire that had already hit about 6,000 miles. With the matching front tire mounted the personality of the bike's performance noticeably improved. Cornering, wet-weather handling, and overall smoothness were prevalent while riding. As of this review, my rear tire has over 9,000 miles and is finally showing a smoothed center tread. The front tire, now with about 3,000 miles on it shows almost as good as the day I mounted on the wheel. Of the 5 or 6 tires I've tried (not including the factory tires that were on the bike bike originally) the Pirelli MT66 tires are by far the best buy for this type of cruiser. Some extra informatIon: I have commuted on this bike since I bought it in August 2008 through the Spring of 2014. I have over 51,000 miles logged on it - almost 10,000 of those miles on the current rear tire.

tip on even wear for front MT 21

I have used the MT21 front tire many times on DRZ 400, KLR 250, WR250R and now KTM 350 EXCF. Yes the center knobs wear terribly uneven. That is when using an inner tube. What I have learned through experience is that when a Tubliss bladder is installed, the center knobs wear evenly when inflated to 28 psi on pavement. Also it helps if the rider is not heavy on the front brake when using an inner tube. By the way, I use an MT43 on the rear. Save the trails.

Tons of grip, ounces of mileage!

I've been using Pirelli Rosso Corsas on my 1125R since I bought it in 2009. The only time I've ever questioned its grip is on a 100deg day in the afternoon sessions of a trackday in Houston. This was the third session in a month on the same rear and the sides were toast. As a street tire it is faultless when it comes to grip. The mileage however is a different story. On a big Vtwin bike like the 1125R, I only get 2000 miles or so out of the rear. And on the street for commuting this just isn't ideal as the center wears well before the sides. Keep that in mind when purchasing this tire and be honest with yourself about what the tire will be used for.
