The Alpinestars Tech 10 sole inserts are fairly easy to use. You just need a heat gun or hair dryer to get the old sole inserts off and to set the glue on the new ones.

boots look great after a thorough cleaning and application of this stuff. Helps the boot leather stay supple.

I didn't want the extra bulk of inner boot or spend the extra money for the Tech 10's, The Tech 7's are excellent boots a nice balance of stiffness and sensitivity for braking and shifting. The boots do have a break in period.

I bought this for my son because it got good reviews and was a little cheaper than the Leatt. It didn't fit and the construction was pretty cheap compared to my Leatt brace. I sent it back and ordered him a Leatt as well. In my opinion, there is no comparison. The Leatt is expensive...but you know the saying.

They are quite expensive, as all Alpinestars boots. Well now, all boots are but these are especially expensive for what you get. I ride weekly, I put a lot of use in my boots. The Tech 8's don't take very long to break in, and that's the only good thing I have to say. The bootie doesn't fit everyone's foot, and personally, it's uncomfortable. I crashed about half a year ago, and when I went down, 2 of my buckles were torn off. It wasn't that bad of a crash, I wasn't injured, the bike was untouched. I was pretty mad about that. They are DECENT boots for a beginner.

Only kidney belt I've owned, so I don't have anything to compare it to. Construction is good. Seems to be holding up. Most importantly, my back hurts a lot less after rides. As another reviewer mentioned, it's not very stiff, but I don't think it needs to be and would be less comfortable if it were stiffer.
