    Great Tires!

Bought these tires for my bike and have been very happy with them. I bought them just before I took a 2000 mile ride. During the ride I hit water, snow, and dry pavement and was very happy with the performance. They grip great and still look brand new. I would recommend them!

Metzeler ME 880 Marathon Tire issues

In the spring of 2012 I had a new Metzeler 90/90 ME 880 Marathon MC 54H tire professionally installed and balanced on my 2006 Harley Davidson 883 Custom. I was surprised that two relatively large weights were required for balancing. That said in my mind changing from a Dunlop 80/90 21 to the Metzeler made a significant improvement in low speed handling. This spring while checking my tires I noticed that numerous small cracks have developed in the Metezler tire, both in the sidewalls and in the tread groves. I find this unacceptable as the tire has less than 4000 miles on it, very good tread remaining, was manufactured in 2010 and tire pressure frequently monitored to maintain 30psi. I consider the cracks a safety issue and will replace the Metzeler with a different brand ASAP.

    Torrence rear tire

Good so far. 2000 miles and see no wear. Smooth, tracks well thru corners and dirt roads. Haven't been in the rain yet. I think it will be a good tire for the price point.

    Way better than the TKC80

I've played around with a few tires, even the uber talked about TKC80. This beats it hands down. Let me start by saying that I ride 90% dirt with my 800GS. When I know i'm going to be in the slop and pushing it in the dirt, I go with a MT21 front, D606 in the rear, but it's not the best combo for pavement on a big bike. I was a bit leary of the tread design in gravel, but it gives way more feedback than the TKC80, and in the mud, it's not a knobby, but it won't slide on top as much as the TKC, and it clears itself WAY better as well! Bonus!!! Highway does have a bit of a hum, but nothing bad, I can scrape pegs in the corners with this tire as well. Tread life is subjective, but any tire that's worth it's salt for traction, will wear a bit, I don't want a hockey puck.
