In the early 1950s, Roy Richter’s close friend lost his life in an automobile racing accident. A skilled racer and industry enthusiast himself, Richter realized after the crash that something could’ve been done to save his friends life. He decided that, since racing changed his life, he would change racing, and got to work in the garage behind his auto parts store to develop the 500, an unprecedented helmet for automobile racers. That was in 1954. In 1955, the helmet got its due when a professional racer in the Indy 500 crashed and credited the fittingly named 500 helmet with saving his life. With that racer’s endorsement and an underdeveloped niche in the market, Bell quickly grew into the innovative, influential, and premier helmet manufacturer it is today.
Now, the same passion for safety and innovation that brought Bell to fruition is what keeps them at the top of their class today. The company is all the right parts boundry-pushing technology, teamwork, dedication, skill, and nerve, and they use that to continue developing product that is time tested and champion trusted.
Bell’s focus remains on helmets, developing and refining lids like the Bell MX-9, the Bell Moto-9, and the Bell Qualifier to keep dirt and street riders alike safe and secure in the event of a crash. With most helmets coming ECE & Snell certified, along with impressively durable and comfy EPS liners and an integrated MIPS system, Bell has continued to redefine safety in the industry.

Great light helmet. Looks great and good venting for hot weather.

Love helmet fit well like magnet chin pads. My son has a round head best fit was large. The little plastic pin on the side of the visor breaks off pretty easy in a fall or crash. then you cant get the little pin out but you can just put a new visor on and leave old pin in helmet if you can find a new one. Visor are hard to find. My sons first year took a lot of abuse well may have saved some head injury.

So far super pleased with the fit and styling. Sizing chart and size ordered were spot on. Haven't ridden with it yet because of winter.

Very comfortable fit and breaths well while riding. Not super heavy or bulky and has felt nice the few times I have tried to smack my head on the ground. I love that the padding is all removable so it can be cleaned. Feels like a brand-new helmet every time I put it on after I clean it. Great buy for the price with MIPS.

this is my second Bell helmet. Fit has been true to size on both. Very comfortable. We put a helmet communication system in our helmets so we can keep track of everyone on our family rides. there is no issue with comfort or fit with that installed.

Nice fit, light weight. A little snug at first, but I put a volleyball in it for a few days and that perfected the fit. At first I thought it was a bit loud and the peak was too short, but I am getting used to it. A lot quieter on the BMW GS1200 than the DR650. Peak should still have a little more adjustment to make it more of a sun visor.
