Airoh may be a new name to many U.S. riders, but they are already a well-respected brand in pro racing and hold the title as the top offroad brand throughout Europe. The Aviator 2.1 Motocross Helmet is the top choice of many of Europe’s best motocross riders, including six-time Grand Prix motocross champion Tony Cairoli. In the U.S., some of the standouts who trust their safety to Airoh helmets are Rockstar Energy Racing’s Blake Wharton and Jason Anderson. Airoh founder Antonio Locatelli stresses the research, development and innovation that go into each helmet. Technicians and athletes work together to constantly refine the designs to improve both rider comfort and increase rider safety. The U.S. Aviator 2.1 Motocross Helmet will feature dual homologation utilizing both the DOT and ECE safety standards ensuring this helmet protects as well as it performs.
  • Handmade of Kevlar and carbon composite fibers, stratified as per the Multi Axial System which ensures the best shock absorption performances and maximum lightness at the same time.
  • Anatomical inner shell features wide air channels inside the shell and vents on the comfort liner, together they provide excellent inner climate control.
  • The washable and removable microfiber comfort liner is treated with the innovative 2Dry treatment and is equipped with highly transpiring Bulpren reticulated padding. These features prevent the entrance of dirt and ensure an enduring and pleasant freshness sensation. They also ensure an ever dry fit, allowing an optimal flow of air inside the helmet and quickly conveying humidity outside.
  • Chin Guard conveys fresh air inside the helmet directly toward the inner surface of the visor and the rider’s mouth. It allows constant air circulation inside the helmet and reduces the production of condensation as well as the fogging of the visor.
  • A pair of aerators positioned on the top of the shell and directly linked to the inside of the helmet by large-diameter holes. They allow a large quantity of fresh air from outside to ventilate the top of the head. Equipped with protective mesh netting, they also prevent the entry of foreign bodies into the helmet.
  • Peak Screws can be easily tightened and loosened manually. Sliding peak allows a customized adjustment for any condition of use.
  • The Airoh system allows a quick removal of the cheek pads in emergency situations. A red strap on the lower part of the cheek pad allows the medical staff to remove them with the helmet still on. This allows the rescuers to safely free (in case of an accident) the motorcyclist’s head from the helmet without causing any further trauma, injury or damage.
  • The painted and UV-coated outer shell ensures higher resistance on the surface and preserves the shine of its color over time.
  • Meets or exceeds DOT safety standards.

Very Cool Helmet

Comments On Jul 22, 2014:This thing looks like it came right out of a sci-fi movie! Needless to say it's a very unique style that will probably set you apart from everyone else on the track. It's super light weight, which is where this product shines the brightest, which means far less shoulder and neck fatigue during long days at the track. It's also highly vented, so it's great for hot weather riding. Be warned however, this helmet is runs fairly small. If you wear an XL size helmet you run the risk of not being able to fit in it. I typically wear a Large size but opted for the XL and it's still quite snug on my cheeks. Overall, a fantastic helmet with a unique look and top of the line construction.

Lives up to every expectation

Comments On May 15, 2014:I just did an extensive review of this helmet but when I submitted it, it seems to have gotten lost.
I did a lot of research for the helmet that would be the coolest and in the end it came down to this and Arai. I went with this one because I thought it would be the coolest. After riding through the Winter in Southern Utah and Northern Nevada and we're now mid-May with temps in mid-80's in Moab and Green River, the airflow on this helmet is wonderful.
The price and weight were not a consideration in picking this over the Arai. But it is less expensive and weighs in between 2.1 and 2.5 pounds for a medium (couldn't figure out which number it actually is for a medium). The Arai is 3 pounds for a medium.
The light weight of this helmet is absolutely amazing.
