Good tire for desert style dual sport

Comments On Jul 28, 2014:I bought this tire when I lived in the Mojave. When I first purchased the tire, it felt very slick in the dirt. As it wore in, it had plenty of grip to get me moving, but enough slip to allow some great power slides. Mileage wise, I probably have about 3000 miles on it, and it should be replaced soon. Usage was mixed road and dirt for about 2000 miles, and lately just road. Definitely more of a 50/50 tire.

not for high speed

Comments On Jul 27, 2014:This is a good tire for the money, especially for dirt. You get what you pay for though. This front tire took 60g to balance, which seems excessive. It is fine at low speeds, really up to 60 or so. Much faster that that it sets up a crazy wobble or bounce that is a bit scary. I will try to wear this out on local roads, and will definitely replace it before I go on my next road trip.

Difficult to install

Comments On Jul 17, 2014:This tire had a large cup and looked different than the rest. (As difficult to install as the more expensive ED78s). It had severe issues trying to hold an Ultra Heavy Duty tube eventually blowing out the side wall and destroying the tire. Going back to Dunlops, D606s!

Great grip and wear

Comments On Jul 16, 2014:Have over thousand miles on this tire and it has held up great and grips surprisingly well on most conditions - gravel, rocks and smooth on pavement. Very predictable. Have been beating the heck out of the back tire to try and finish it off and see how long it will go for, but still hangs in there. Will buy again.

Bigger is not always better

Comments On Jun 05, 2014:I bought the 3.25 x 21 front. Makes the bike handle funny. This tire is probably an inch bigger in diameter than the 3.00 x 21. Learned a lesson.

Front is great! the Rear im not so shure about

Comments On May 16, 2014:I have 1400 Miles on front and rear tire. MY ttr250 is street legal and about 1390 of those mile were on road. The front tire still has the t**s on it. The rear is showing a good amount of ware. But im a fat guy. I out weigh the bike by 40lb if i remember right. And for the first 500 mile i had the rear suspension really soft for my weight. So i think the ware on the rear is dew to that and my fat behind. For the price im gunna buy another rear when the time comes and give it another shot. I read some reviews and some people talk about the knobs chucking off. i havent had that problem. they handle well on the road and are very stable at speed (no wobble) Give me good traction too.

Not to impressed but, good for the street

Comments On Feb 01, 2014:Good for the street but, not that great in yucca washes. Street is cool but, what happens when I want to go off-roading at the lake bed and hit the washes? Evidently , buy another back rim , put a real dirt tire on it, put it in your buddies trailer, and change it when you get there!
