Unbelievable traction

Comments On Sep 18, 2014:Finally a true all around tire! Combine the stiffer sidewall of the RC with a Tubliss system @ 4 psi and you have one awesome rear tire. Plus it wears great. 22 hours on this 110/90/19 and just bought another one due to it finally losing cornering stability but it still hooks up straight line. When I first installed this tire I nearly had the bike jump out from under me on several occasions because it would hook where I'd never had a tire hook up. Got a gripper seat cover because of this tire combo. The front tire on the other hand is garbage. Do not recommend it.

Comments On Sep 16, 2014:This tire is an absolute beast. It is a mud, rock, and stick slinging tire. It has performed extremely well in all terrain. You do not want to ride behind someone with it on their bike. You will come home with bruises!!! Will not hesitate to purchase another one.

Not so good

Comments On Aug 31, 2014:Only positive is excellent straight line traction that never seems to go away even with wear. Wears out quickly, at least as fast as MX 51. Sidewall tears easily (nothing compared to Maxxis Desert IT which is impossible to tear). If you lean the bike over in a flat turn with out a berm you lose traction suddenly (more than with MX51). The tire may react differently with a Bib Mousse or tube, I ran Tubliss with pressures ranging from 2 psi to 5. Seemed to do better at higher psi on extreme lean angles but defeats the purpose of Tubliss in the AZ desert. I may try it again with a Bib Mousse to see if it performs better with the intended profile (low pressures cause the tire to pancake and can react funny when leaning the bike over). This review is for 110/100x18. A level rider

Best desert tire.....EVER!

Comments On Jan 17, 2014:Dunlop could have done a lot better coming up with a new tire. The MX71 is a better desert tire. This tire works good in a straight line, but very unpredictable cornering. Dunlop needs to get with making there "sticky" tire available to the public!

Additional Comments On May 13, 2014:I previously rated this tire with only 2 stars........I have since been running a tubliss system at 3 to 5 psi. It is amazing at these pressures, anything more and it loses cornering due to the stiffness of the tire. I have not tried a front just yet. I have tried two different sizes in the rear. The 1st was a 110/100x18 the 2nd a 120/90x18. I prefer the 120/90x18 over the 110/100x18....just personal preference.

Great in the desert

Comments On Jan 27, 2014:I've been running MX51's since they came out and while they they do great in the rocks, sand, and hard packed I'm tearing the knobbies off in just one race, the at81 feels a lot like to old 756, great traction all around and great cornering. Did great in the rocks with very little wear last race running 16psi.

Good durability, used with Tubliss

Comments On Dec 09, 2013:I have been using this tire along with the Tubliss system now for several months. I am running 4 psi. The tire is holding up well I ride twice a week and ran two hare scrambles.
