Did not work on arrival

Comments On Mar 24, 2013:For the most part this is a good item but I did have one problem. When it arrived I installed it and it wouldn't power on. I validated all connections (there are only two but I validated fuse and connections leading to stereo) but stereo nor light would come on. I tried calling SSV Works and I got a recording stating they were open until 5:00 P.M. PST. Since it was 3:30 MST I would have expected them to be there but no answer. I called back 15 minutes later with same results. I then called Rocky Mountain and while the guy that answered the phone was very courteous he couldn't help me without manager approval. He spoke to the install guys and they said to make sure that the key was turned on. Since the unit is wired directly to the battery the key didn't make much sense but I tried anyway with no success. I was informed that they would contact me back but I have yet to here from them. I was a little nervous in tearing into the unit but since I was not getting a response from the manufacturer or Rocky Mountain I removed the screws that held the ipod/stereo mount in the enclosure. I then seen that there was 2 connections, 1 for the speakers and the other for power. The power connection was not plugged in. Once the power was plugged in the unit seemed to work good. For the most part I am happy with the unit but after spending that much money on the unit I would expect better service and more quality control.

ssv works stereo

Comments On Oct 09, 2012:not as good as i had hoped for a 500+ dollar unit. works great with the mp3, but you have to be in the radio station parking lot for it to pick up. for the money there are better. would not buy again

Great speakers and iPod unit

Comments On Apr 19, 2012:These things are sweet, this is my second setup for sound system in the RZR the first was some other brand and it just bounced around and broke even with better supports just didn't hold up. this gets am/fm plays iPod and doesn't skip even threw the mud holes and rutted trails
