Comments On May 02, 2013:I've worn out 4 or 5 of these on the front of my XT600. I ride about 50% pavement and 50% gravel or very hard dirt. They only last a couple thousand miles but is worth it to me having aggressive knobs on gravel/dirt. Might not work great on big "adventure" street bikes but I like it for dry hard terrian on my old Yamaha. I stay home when it rains so not at all concerned about mud performance.

Comments On Feb 05, 2011:Used on my KTM 950 and it handled badly in soft terrain, created a lot of head shake.

Comments On Jul 01, 2010:A friend and I bought tires for our GS's at the same time - he picked up the Conti TKC80's and I went with the Metzeler Karoos and we thought it would be interesting to compare. The Karoo front has a larger tread radius than the TKC 80s with slightly smaller blocks but basically similar. The steering tends to wander a bit on asphalt, which feels odd but is predictable. My GS seems to oversteer a bit with the Karoo - nothing serious, but you'll be resisting the highway corners more than with more road oriented rubber. The tire performed very well off road - similar reports from my buddy and his TKC80 ... and let me assure you, the tires were tested hard crossing creeks and running the gauntlet of decommissioned logging roads in central British Columbia. Best Liked: confident handling off-road, could handle being pushed hard on the pavement once I got used to the tire. tough Least Liked: screamed like a banshee between 100 and 115 kph (bring earplugs), oversteer in the corner
