That moment was ground zero for the modern motorsport helmet and it gave rise to an entire industry. The all new Bell Custom 500 Open-Face Motorcycle Helmet pays homage to Richter's original design and adds modern protective technology to bring the design up-to-date while still keeping the original's aesthetic. By combining a custom fiberglass lay-up with a specially designed EPS foam layer, Bell engineers were able to craft a motorcycle helmet that is at once lightweight, narrow in profile, and DOT-compliant. Adding custom paint-inspired graphics, chrome trim work and a quilted liner, the Bell Custom 500 Motorcycle Helmet looks as good as it performs.

nice helmet

Comments On May 16, 2013:i really like the helmet, it fits snugg and comfortable. Its a nice change from the full motocross helmets im used to. No complaints except that it makes me look like a dork from the 70's but ehh, whats new.

Best open-face there is

Comments On Feb 27, 2013:I've got a giant head. It's something I've come peace with. Normally open face helmets look ridiculous on me but this one manages to look great and function well. The head sizing is accurate (got the xxl) but even with my head the helmet is light weight and still stays stylish. Go for it.

Nice looking metal flake, some imperfections.

Comments On Jul 23, 2012:Sparkles and shines, fit is on par with Arai sizing. Some impurities in the clear coat put a blemish on an otherwise great looking hat. Nice quilting inside and leather accents too. Standard D-rings are simple and effective to use. A good buy at a good price, they fit tighter on your head and prevent that, "ready to shoot out of a cannon" look that many other helmets have.
