Not for me

Comments On Jan 01, 2012:The brace was very nice and went on easily, but didn't have the range of movement I wanted. I tried to adjust it but the screws/ bolts didn't seem to hold well. The brace's design is great, but it just didn't suit me. Bummer...

Great Brace

Comments On Oct 09, 2011:I am 6'1 200lbs, after initial adjustment it fits perfect, you dont know its there unless doing a steep down hill when you may feel it in the back of your helmet but its not bad. I race dez, gp worcs and do alot of trail riding. I bought it over the Astar because of its suspension system. It really makes sense compared to the others that transfer the force direct to your spine in the back and your sternum up front. My Oneal chest protector fits aswell as my thor body armor after I cut the front a little bit. The decals peal right off and leave a clean black finish and I use compressed air to clean off the brace after rides.
I would defiantly recommend

good product

Comments On Oct 03, 2011:I purchased one of the cheaper Leatt braces (which cost about the same as this one) and had to return it due to lack of ajustment. This brace is lighter and more comfortable to wear whith more than enough ajustment to allow fitment for riders of all shapes and sizes.

Excellent Product - Adjustable - Reasonable Price

Comments On Mar 24, 2011:My son loves this neck brace. He tried the EVO Neckbrace (hated it) and several of the Leatt braces and liked this one by far the best. It has a non-obtrusive design and my son says he doesn't even know that it's during normal riding. Best feature is that it's a one size fits all. It takes a little bit of time to adjust it the first time but after that no maintenance. That makes it a nice product for kids because when they grow, you don't have to shell out additional money for a larger one. I can't comment on the level of protection it provides (and hope I never have to) but it seems to fit right and prevent the neck from being over extended.

Great brace

Comments On Mar 03, 2011:Bought this brace before a 300-mile, 2-day desert ride last year. I had no discomfort from the brace, felt it work in the one time I crashed and had head-ground contact, and my neck was not sore at any point during or after the ride. I was happy.

Clever Design, Quality Construction

Comments On Sep 08, 2010:The design of this brace, in my opinion, is excellent; it's configured to transfer the load of helmet impact into the trapezeus and pectoral muscles via seatbelt-like straps that suspend the rigid portion of the brace above the shoulders. I don't see this thing causing any broken clavicles or thoracic spine injuries like some other designs are rumored to.
It's quite compact and very simple to adjust for just about any body type/size. It won't fit really big guys, though - I'm 6'0" 195 lbs and fairly thickly muscled and it just fits me. If you've got over about a 42-inch chest, it probably won't fit you well.
I haven't crashed on my head wearing it (knock on wood) so I can't comment on its protective virtues. Others have said that after 10 minutes of riding, you don't even realize you're wearing it. Well, I disagree. It took me about ten seconds before I forgot I had it on.
Additional Comments On Feb 23, 2011:Just had my first get-off while wearing the Omega neck brace, landing on my head and the top of my left shoulder. I felt (and heard) a big thud when my head smacked the ground, followed immediately by the sound/feeling of my helmet bottoming out on the neck brace. My first reaction was one of concern for my head/neck, since it seemed like they hit the ground hardest and took the brunt of the force. Turns out my head and neck were fine - not a bit of soreness after the fact - while my shoulder suffered a mild separation of the AC joint - resulting in massive soreness! In these situations, one never knows how much worse it could have been, but I'll take a sore shoulder over a head/neck injury any day. (Oh, and for what it's worth, I experienced no clavicle pain, either.) Now can anyone recommend some good shoulder protection that fits this brace?

Crash Tested and definitely approved!

Comments On Jan 16, 2011:I had a massive crash last summer while wearing my Omega (4th gear pinned, helmet cam showed me doing 3 full rotations before hitting the ground) and about the only thing that didn't get hurt was my neck! My gopro clearly shows my head contacting the ground as my body cartwheeled down the track so I have no doubt that the omega did its job.
The downside is that the omega, like most neck braces, only fits with a limited number of chest protectors. Since I wasn't wearing my chest protector because of the poor fit with it and the brace, I ended up with several broken ribs.

Comfortable, safe and the price was right.

Comments On Apr 15, 2010:Couldn't afford the $500 braces. Thought this was the best, cheaper alternative. I was right. The first couple rides my big neck rubbed on the brace because I didn't have the straps tight enough. Works well, feels safe. I would recommend it to others.

Awesome

Comments On Nov 02, 2009:This brace is very good and comfortable, It does restrict the movement quite abit to the back compared to the leatt, but its nothing you cant get used to, overall I really like this brace

I love this thing

Comments On Oct 03, 2009:I like that this is an open neck front. I ride it with sand dunes and after 10 minutes I was so used to it hat I had to remind myself I had the brace on! I would recommend this to anyone, and wouldn't let anyone ride with out one, it'll save you life and your spinal cord.
