In installed this in a 1997 Honda Foreman 400 (using a different mounting plate). The battery in the ATV is under the rear of the seat. What I found was that the cables provided assumed the battery would be less than 2 feet from the winch. I managed to use colored tape to 'switch' the cables to the longer ones provided and put the electrical box provided under the rear of the ATV. That solved the problem with the main cables, but the in/out switch cables were ALSO too short to reach the battery so I had to splice in some extra wire to get them to work. If the company would provide longer cables and leave one of the crimp ends off the cable I could easily have installed them with the right length with very little additional cost to the product maker. Poor planning in my opinion. The winch works great now though. TECH NOTE: IN SOME CASES THE LONG AND SHORT CABLES MAY NEED TO BE SWITCHED. WE HAVE UPDATE THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THIS.Read All Reviews
