IMS Fuel Tank

2008 Yamaha WR450
Bought the 3.1 gallon blue tank. Looks good, but not a perfect tank. The shrouds did not fit the bottom holes by an inch (this is after I had to buy the YZ shrouds). I had to order a new fuel valve because it is mounted at the front of the tank instead of the rear so it faced the wrong way. I had to drill out the holes to make it so the fuel valve would fit. My seat was very hard to fit on. The top of the seat curled slightly, and it took a lot of effort to get the bolts in on the back of the seat. I guess I will put up with all of this in order to get an extra gallon of gas. I just wish it fit better.

It is very long, so it is difficult to fit it in my enduro bike. I guess that for ATVs or Razor will fit ok. Material is good, my only problem is that is is too long for me.

Acerbis Fuel Tank

Doesn't fit if you have a Scotts Stabilizer
The front of the tank (where the bolt mounts into frame) hits the stabilizer. Why would they design a "Desert Tank" that isn't compatible with one of the most prevalent stabilizers?? TECH NOTE: FRONT OF TANK INTERFERES WITH SCOTTS STABILIZER POST ON KX/KLX 450

i love the aux fuel tank, only drawback is the filler cap is had to get off, other than that this tank is awesome and will add hours of fun without heading back to camp for fuel!

Acerbis Locking Gas Cap

I really like this gas cap.
I researched this gas cap and found it will work with older model KLR650 IMS gas tanks. The newer IMS tanks have a different thread and will not work with this cap. I was tired of losing breather hoses on the gas cap that was supplied with my IMS tank. I found this locking cap had internal vents that made the breather hose not necessary. This was my main goal, but after using this gas cap for 1 month I have grown to like the locking feature. This gas cap is well made and works flawlessly for me.
