Knee Braces provide knee support and protection during those long races or trail rides.

these are supposed to help hold up knee braces and stop chaffing. They dont fit that well and slid down my legs taking my knee braces with them. Total waste of money.

I bought the large size after following the recommended measurements and they are too big. I can't return them due to me not living in the USA. But my boots help to hold them up and in place so I'm happy with them sort-of.! I wear them with leg-ins to stop the chafing. The braces have given me a boost of confidence after a big stack without them on. It left me with a ruptured posterior cruciate ligament. The braces quite possibly could have prevented that injury. I wear them all the time now.

I've had these braces for almost a year. I previously rode with Asterisk braces for 4 years but wanted to try these. I use braces because I don't have an ACL anymore in my right knee. The Alpinestars have been a let down. In the first two rides, the tiny screws that hold the top strap to the brace backed out on both braces. The threaded portion is so small it's ridiculous. I used longer threaded screws to replace them and they've held in place. I had to do some grinding and taping to make it work. They migrate down your leg unlike Asterisk braces. The little snaps that hold the knee cap/patella piece in place won't stay snapped at all. Fortunately, the snaps are to big to pull through so the knee cap piece doesn't fall completely out. The padding behind the knee cap is pretty thin too. I've used the brace for skiing as well as dirt biking... Asterisk fit better and stayed place MUCH better as well as stayed together. The only thing these braces have going for them is their light weight. I don't recommend these braces. Additional Comments On Sep 20, 2011:After posting this review I received a phone call from Alpinestars. They wanted to look at my knee braces and replace the FOR FREE. They have have made small changes in the current braces. It was a pleasure to deal with them as a company. The screws that fell out have been addressed and the top and bottom straps are wider. They do have a very simple adjustment for the flexion stops. I like how simple it is to adjust the range of motion. Thank you Alpinestars for have continuously updating your product and for world class customer service.

My son has a prescribed CTI on his right leg so I bought him one of these for his left. Decent brace for the money.Left bottom bracket broke after a year of hard racing so rather than send it back for repairs we're going with the more expensive PODS. Perfect for little guys and beginnner racers.

I have purchase two pair of the Fox Racing Proforma Knee Brace Socks back in 2005 and 2006 and both pair are just starting to stretch out so I purchased the Fox Racing Proforma Knee Brace Socks 2013. The 2013 ripped at the seam above the ankle when I first wore them. My wife mended the seam but it is coming apart in a different location. I would not recommend purchasing these socks because of poor quality.

These are sweet. very strong materials. I would prefer they had some sort of "memory" strapping system, but not that big of a deal really. as with anything you strap to your body it takes a bit to get used to, but after a short ride you forget they are there.
