Mounting for Trail Tech Vapor Tachometer
I am very satisfied with the Trail Tech Vapor Tachometer, however the mounting accesories that come with the tachometer are totally unacceptable. They do not work for a 2006 CRF450X. A seperate Trail Tech Speedometer Protector, handle bar mounted, must be purchased to utilize this instrument.

The Billet Protector looks great and provides great protection. The speedometer does not come out very well, but I leave mine on all the time. It also took minor adjustments to get it mounted even though it was purchased for my model of bike.

It works-so long as you have the stock handlebars
It fit my Trail Tech Voyager GPS Computer perfectly and it houses the computer perfectly BUT it does not fit the 1 1/8" handlebars because the spacing is for the stock handle bar mounts.

If the unit was manufactured before 10/2/12 it has been recalled by Trail Tech it is a pain to take it off and send it back to Trail Tech, and I had to pay for shipping

Plan on spending lots of time installing
Be prepared to spend about 5 hours if you want to set it up correctly so it is as accurate as possible. If you get the protector it comes with an antenna. You will need to run 5 wires. 1 from spark plug for tach, 1 from your radiator for temp, 1 from battery for power, 1 from your front disc for speedo & 1 for the external antenna. Install the tempature sensor requires to cut one of your radiator hoses and be careful to place the snsor in a way it does not interfere with you gas tank clearance. Reomove the spark plug coil/cap off (not easy on a 4 stroke) to install the tach pickup. This is a great product just not easy to install.
