    Could withstand Armageddon...

This water pump guard that I installed on my 2006 YZ250F looks like it could withstand a nuclear blast! It's kind of crude in appearance, but it is definitely strong! It bolts up to the front engine mount, and the stock part's mount on the frame. I bet you could lift the bike off the ground by this piece!

Beefy! Brackets need work. Price is excellent!

I installed this last night on my 2009 YZ250 and it took me about 15 minutes. It should have only taken a minute or two. It has two bolts, two screws, the plate, and four brackets that hold it to your frame. The rear brackets are no problem, although the right side rear bracket has very tight clearance on my YZ. You can make it fit though. The front brackets were just a tad too narrow. They won't wrap around the frame like they should. They are holding the plate in place and it doesn't seem like it's going anywhere but those brackets should wrap around the frame not sit on the edges like they are. I'll probably take a grinder and take a millimeter off the inside of the brackets to see if they will wrap around the frame like they should. Seriously though they should just bolt on and work it shouldn't be this difficult. Outside of that this is a solid plate and it really adds peace of mind. I threw out the foam pad that is advertised to keep dirt from accumulating in between the bottom case and the skid plate. Just take the plate off and wash the bike when it builds up. There is no ventilation holes like in some of the pictures either. Just one hole so you can access your drain plug. I'll just take it off when I need to drain my bottom end.

    Look Great But...

I like the look of them but with riding boots they get scuffed up a lot more than I thought they would.

    Horrible coverage.

I have used cycra products before with good results so I thought this skid plate would be good. I am OK with the material it is made of, I actually prefer it, and I'm OK with the way it is zip-tied on, but I am not OK with the coverage it provides. If this plate covered like it should I wouldn't have any issues with it. On my 07 crf450 this plate doesn't come close to reaching where the frame splits near the exhaust port. There was a 3.5 inch gap between where the frame Y's and the skid plate began. The plate covered up to where the bolts are for the white plastic engine guards. This is an important area to cover in my opinion, and this skid plate didn't get the job done. I bought a works connection aluminum plate instead, the WC plate covers great.

    Good design and fit

I have seen these in action on friends bikes, if you have a chain come off chances are it will save your clutch slave and engine case from major damage, no guarantee, but it can't hurt. They pretty much do what EE says they do. Very well made and designed. Installs easily. Highly recommend it could save you lots of money.

    Perfect fit, great protection!

Already paid for itself tenfold. Put it on my brand new KTM 350 EXC-F, refusing to hit the rocky trails until I was properly protected. Well, first ride it proved its worth! Bike was plinked for hours by rocks of all sized, and finally slammed down on a huge boulder when I lost the front-end; definitely would have done some MAJOR damage if not for this awesome skid plate! Looks great, fits great, works great.
