  I have the EVS RS-7 knee braces, so I bought the EVS undersleeves. The Asterisk undersleeves stay up better, so I bought those. The EVS are good, just not as good as the Asterisk.

  Awesome!

  Loved these guards. Very comfortable even against bare skin. I like wearing the convertible shorts during the summer and these offer great protection. I love the hinges as they keep the pressure off the straps and keep the guards from binding up. <span>Additional Comments On Jul 26, 2010:</span>Great guards. Lasted me 2 1/2 seasons until I took a hard crash and my bike came down on my knee cap. It broke one of the front plastic pieces. Still works okay, but better safe that sorry, so I'm ordering a new pair. Glad they did their job since my knee is fine. They are very comfortable on bare skin or over socks/pants. My only suggestion is to lengthen the lower calf strap as I can barely get it around my calf.

  Alpinestars Bionic MX Knee Protectors

  They are what they are...

  ....which is an effective and very reasonably priced protection to the shin - kneecap and particularly the muscle area just above the knee. The bars seem to hit that last area every time I have a get off, and the protectors have really prevented more of those type injuries. Granted, the straps become pretty worthless after a while. With a little thought those are easily replaced and simple to improve upon. And, yes, they do make annoying noises when you walk around in them. Regardless, they are well worth the little money, and I strongly suggest you wear them EVERY time you mount up. Leaving them back at the truck won't help.
