Pretty disappointed.
Though these mid-layers are warm and the Velcro adjustments make sizing the waist a breeze, I was very disappointed that the waist only fastens with a simple snap that can come undone fairly easily while sitting. Also, there are no belt loops for wearing a belt, should you decide to do so. Basically, you're just relying upon a rather weak snap to keep the pants secure. I'm a big fan of Klim and have bought quite a few of their products as they've always seemed really well thought out. I have to say they failed on this one.

Perfect base layer for hot and cold
This shirt is great. It's the perfect base layer for both hot and cold. When it's cold this shirt makes me feel warm. It also pulls away the sweat so that I don't freeze when I stop riding. When it's hot I feel cooler than wearing nothing. My sweat seems to evaporate better and I seem to cool off quicker. It looks blue in the photo, but mine was dark black. It looks great on, and I ordered a size up so it's not too 'skin tight' when I wear it without a jersey. Try it, you'll like it.

good protection
Well made with a thick amount of semi hard foam on hips and upper thigh area. Athough I hardly ever hurt myself in those areas after a bail,age is catching up with me so I thought this would be the smart thing to do, along with elbow and knee protection.
