    Just OK

I ran this tire for 500 miles on a KLX250S and it was ok, it was heavier than the Kenda Trakmaster that I had on before and wasn't as predictable handling. It seemed to break loose with less warning and the 250 had a hard time spinning it up in softer conditions. I also have it on a KTM 450 EXC (2006 model) and have 1000 miles on it and it's shot. It wore down slowly on the 450 but it didn't have very good traction. More often than not it would just spin when I needed it to bite to get the front tire over something. With about 3/8" of tread remaining in the center it is deafening on the road. I will be replacing it with a Kenda Trakmaster or trying out a trials tire. All of the above applies to the rear tire. The front tire was the absolute worst tire I've ever used, including the stock 50/50 tires that came on the KLX250. It was very narrow and rounded and washed out easily on hardpack, had no grip in mud, and sunk in the sand and was useless.

    Best for my area

I've tried just about every tire made, and the Starcross is the best for my area and conditions. We have a lot of tracks with a sand/clay mix and lots of rocks. The tire gets good traction and holds up well and is priced about the same as any others. I'll flip a tire as soon as the leading edge rounds over, and replace it as soon as that edge rounds over.

    Good tires

I bought front and rear 244s. After pinching 2 tubes, I had local shop install for $15 each. Seemed a little squirrily at first, but now seem to grip the pavement and have performed well off road. I got a "bounce" on the highway and put the beads in, it is better, but still a little out of balance. We'll see how long they last. Look good after about 350 miles on and off road.
