It is my understanding that Dial-A-Jet will work properly without the snorkel on machines where the unit is mounted outside the airbox on the carburetor horn. However, on my KFX700 the D-A-J mounted inside the airbox. It must be vented to normal atmospheric pressure to function properly. The vacuum created inside the airbox causes it not to work and the engine will run rough. Another benefit of the snorkel is the opening can be positioned up high where it is less susceptible to water. If you installed your Dial-A-Jet and everything looks right but it runs poorly, you probably need a snorkle kit.

This is the one of the best products I have bought so far... no more jetting, just turn the dial!

Bought this instead of the Quikshot3, for my 05' yfz450 w/ 480cc Athena. Elminated bog and all hot starting issues, and increased throttle response drastically! Really woke up my bike's Bigbore kit. Highly recommended *****

This is one mod that is worth every penny. I was very skeptical on how having a different float bowl would change the way the bike ran, but it does. No idea how it works, but it's a night and day difference from the stock bowl. I don't know if it's just having the adjustable leak jet or not, but it works very nicely. It's nice to slam the throttle wide open and not have to worry about the initial 4-stroke bog. I have since purchased a 2012 RMZ-450 and I think my YZ-F was more responsive with this float bowl installed. Time will tell as the RMZ only has about 45 minutes on it and the engine is still breaking in.
