Riding base layer underwear that add comfort for the long rides.

I run long 2-3 hour races and these are better than most. I have found that to reduce the dreaded monkey butt you have to keep the butt cheeks from wearing on each other...gross I know....the heavily padded ones do nothing for that and the padding is way too low, these are thinner and tighter fitting and will actually work up your butt and seperate those two butt cheeks (good).I am thinking of designing my own where its made to do just that but this a step in the right direction.

Though these mid-layers are warm and the Velcro adjustments make sizing the waist a breeze, I was very disappointed that the waist only fastens with a simple snap that can come undone fairly easily while sitting. Also, there are no belt loops for wearing a belt, should you decide to do so. Basically, you're just relying upon a rather weak snap to keep the pants secure. I'm a big fan of Klim and have bought quite a few of their products as they've always seemed really well thought out. I have to say they failed on this one.

i never tried any plain baby powder before so i can't give you a comparison, but i will continue to buy this and use it every ride now since it does help with chafing

I had ordered and returned the MSR shorts before purchaseing these. The MSR waist band was not very comfortable. I have a sit down style of riding and I will say that the chamois makes for good end of the day. The waste band is wide and comfortable. They are a little lower on my waste than my normal shorts but not a problem. The pads do not cover the top of my hip bone, but I doubt that any of these type of shorts will. Sizing was true to my other shorts.
