I just received my tire for my bike and it is of high quality at a low price, and in this tough time it's the best that I could have hoped for.

A nice case where "you get what you pay for" isn't quite right. These tyres are down on price, but not down on grip or quality. What you get for your cash is a great tyre with good grip and a reasonable life expectancy for a fantastic price. Shinko bought all the moulds, recipes and equipment from the old Yokohama factory after they decided not to rebuild after the 1995 earthquake in Kobe, so they're basically Yokohama's which were always good tyres. I had an older pair of the touring Shinko tyres on my Blackbird and they did the job nicely. Now I"m giving the stickier versions a go and haven't been dissapointed.

The front I reviewed as a 4 stars and good, they didn't get 5 stars due to being a bit slow and heavy on turn in compared to the much more expensive Dunlops, Michelins .... etc. The Rear feels great though and no issues with it at all.

Installed on my 07 SV650s, I felt the dramatic increase on road feel over the factory dunlop. In the first week of my daily commute 32 mi each way, it rained - the Ravens held true and firm. Since 9/24, I put on about 960 miles already and they are wearing or should I say not much wear at all...Great choice front and rear. And the price here on JakeWilson.com were the best over about 5 other sites and local!

I put the Shinko Verge on the front of my 2001 Kawasaki Concours. From day 1, I had no complaints. Tire performed as it ought to perform. No slipping, no OMG moments. It stuck to the road (with my moderately conservative riding style) and was perfect for me. I figure, if it wore down quickly, it would still be worth it at the price point. Last night after I got home, I started wondering if it was time to replace. Couldn't remember when I'd put it on, but it certainly couldn't have been THAT long. Checked my records....Over 16,000 miles. I'm over 300 lbs. and to have a tire last that long is fantastic. I'll be getting another one to put on very soon.

Bought both Shinko 009 Ravens for my Honda CBR1000F (sport-touring version of the CBR) about a week ago, and performance is excellent. Its cold weather here in Illinois still, chicken-strip capitol of the world (no hills, flat, straight roads) and i have already almost ridden to the edge of the tires with no slipping at all. Jake Wilson has the best price, and for cheap sport-touring tires these are extremely good. Very responsive, sensitive, and almost no roll resistance whatsoever. I didn't realize how much i was fighting with my last set of tires on the turns. Now sharp turns are effortless. The rubber does seem pretty soft for sport-touring, but people on forums are claiming to get 8k+ miles out of these. Time will tell, but for now i am grinning through every turn.
