  A nice case where "you get what you pay for" isn't quite right. These tyres are down on price, but not down on grip or quality. What you get for your cash is a great tyre with good grip and a reasonable life expectancy for a fantastic price. Shinko bought all the moulds, recipes and equipment from the old Yokohama factory after they decided not to rebuild after the 1995 earthquake in Kobe, so they're basically Yokohama's which were always good tyres. I had an older pair of the touring Shinko tyres on my Blackbird and they did the job nicely. Now I"m giving the stickier versions a go and haven't been dissapointed.

The front I reviewed as a 4 stars and good, they didn't get 5 stars due to being a bit slow and heavy on turn in compared to the much more expensive Dunlops, Michelins .... etc. The Rear feels great though and no issues with it at all.

  An inexpensive, decently-performin long-lived tire

  I put the Shinko Verge on the front of my 2001 Kawasaki Concours. From day 1, I had no complaints. Tire performed as it ought to perform. No slipping, no OMG moments. It stuck to the road (with my moderately conservative riding style) and was perfect for me. I figure, if it wore down quickly, it would still be worth it at the price point. Last night after I got home, I started wondering if it was time to replace. Couldn't remember when I'd put it on, but it certainly couldn't have been THAT long. Checked my records....Over 16,000 miles. I'm over 300 lbs. and to have a tire last that long is fantastic. I'll be getting another one to put on very soon.

  I'm happy my sith set!

  These tires work! I ride year around in Missouri. I've ridden them in temps from the teens to the hundreds. NO PROBLEMS! I even rode them home in a freak snow storm, they aren't snow tires, but they got me home! Seriously, I've had NO cornering issues, even cornering hard in the rain. They hold a line well. The DO tend to grab the tar snakes though, so once you know that and prepare, you are fine! Great miles, I usually get ovewr 6k of HARD miles out of each set. I can't be happier!

  Great Tire

  I only had this tire on a few months before I had to put the bike up for winter. I was riding 75 miles one way to work and almost all of it on stright highway at 75-80 mph. So only about 800 miles on them. But so far no flating on the rear tire and they seem to grip well in turn. So far so good with these tires.
