  • Maxxis Maxx Cross EN Tire

    Maxxis Maxx Cross EN Tire

Maxxis EN front excellent, rear not so much

I bought front and rear tires for rocky jeep trails and single track. The front tire has really impressed me. It works okay in soft terrain (i.e., sand) and is great on hardpack and rocks. The side knobs do not chunk when riding at speed in very rocky terrain. This is the first tire I can say that about. The rear tire works great in rocks, and gets very good traction on hard pack, but performs so poorly in sand that it is not useable in AZ. I got hung up on hill climbs that I had never had problems with before due to the poor performance in soft terrain. I took it off after two rides, and put on an IT rear with the EN front. Nice combination for my Summer riding.

  • Michelin Starcross MH3 Intermediate/Hard Terrain Tire

Michelin Starcross MH3 Intermediate/Hard Terrain Tire

    BRETT in GA

    Holeshot approved

This is the best tire I have found for my bike front and rear. They wear well and it hooks up in all conditions and DOES NOT start to lose lugs and chunks like some other brands. I would recommend this tire to motocross racers, for trail riders Michelin makes a tire that is very similar but the lugs are shaped a bit differently that seems to be the tire of choice for my buddies that ride enduro.

  • Bridgestone ED78 Desert Terrain Tire

    Bridgestone ED78 Desert Terrain Tire

Best desert hard terrain tire I've tried yet

This tire will actually last. The terrain out here is brutal on tires and it seams to take beating after beating. Knobs don't blow off either. Stiff carcass though. Run lower pressure than you're used to. I run around 10-12 psi and the tire grabs everything. Great wear characteristics. Solid tire. Plus it's now half off. Pair with ultra HD tube and forget about flats even with the lower pressures.

    Will buy again!!

I've been running this on my KX500 for about 20 hours. It's been flipped around once. This tire hooks up amazingly in the sand and loam, but it has a slight tendency to want to kick out to the side a little under heavy acceleration on harder or loose terrain. Overall...I'm very happy with it, and will buy another. Only 4 Stars, due to rapid 500cc wear.
