Charles in CA

Comments On Jan 09, 2015:a little tight and tend to slip down. had a logging road off bike excursion and they protected my elbow and forearm but never fit the same after that. No worries, I went with a comp suit and like it much better

Good pads, but slide down the arm

Shawn in CA

Comments On Sep 24, 2014:Good padding/protection, but they don't stay put. They keep sliding down my arms, so I'm always trying to readjust. Also, one of the adjusting clips broke after only a few rides.

Made for tiny arms

Jeremy in CO

Comments On May 19, 2014:I bought the L/XL size elbow pads. I'm about 195 lbs, and pretty well built (i.e.not fat). I could barely get the pads on in the correct spot on my arms without tearing the fabric. Once I did get them properly in place, they were so tight they nearly cut off my circulation. I tried to ride with them on, but almost immediately they slipped down to my wrists and forearms. Now I have a worthless set of elbow pads in my gear bag. However, if you have toothpick arms, these pads may work for you.

Nice design, poorly stitched

Peter in California

Comments On Dec 28, 2013:Right out of the bag I found that the left elbow guard had stitches coming out on the bands that go around the forearm and the biceps. As I tried on the guard, the stitches started to come undone even more. I read about these problems in reviews on a different site and figured that they're probably isolated cases, and so I ordered them. Overall, the right elbow guard was fine, but I could see that the stitches would probably fail after a couple of rides.
I would recommend avoiding these until Alpinestars figures out the manufacturing problem. Get them only if you have a friend or mom who can use a sewing machine to redo all of the stitches. They seem like they're a great fit and could probably stay in place even after high impact landings.
