I wanted the series2, the 3 seems cheaper

Comments On Aug 30, 2015:My buddy has the series 2 and it looked like a good compromise enduro jacket (keep you warm, additional zip out liner, fit well, has good protection built in, good ventilation, not cost $500). I looked a t a lot of different brands and to me most of them were lacking some of the features that I wanted. Even the slim jackets didnt seem to cover all the bases. When I went to buy this it was at the series 3, and it looked the same as the two from what I could tell. When I got it it seemed a bit lighter weight fabric than the older series 2. After a few rides and get-offs one of the cinches on the arms tore off. The cinches take up the slack along the arm so the internal padding stays in place, otherwise it would just slide out of the way when you fall. Tourmaster wanted me to return the jacket and RMatv replaced it. I almost feel like I just should have taken the credit and kept looking.

Construction and Price = A++

Comments On Dec 04, 2014:I've toured around the world with the basic Jet jacket. I've owned 3 of them over the years.
After a minor crash and ripped jacket I upgraded & ordered the Transition.
The quality and extra strength have really impressed me. Much better than the basic Jet.
I love T.M. jackets and have been a loyal customer. The Transition is a great jacket with beefed up closures on wrist and neck. Length is slightly longer keeping your waist dryer.
For the price I don't know why you wouldn't buy this jacket. They all last for 3 years with a daily rider.

Perfect fit

Comments On Sep 17, 2013:I have a xl tall jacket. The tall seize make all the difference to me.
The air vent are so so as they close back some times.
Jacket is very warm with the liner.
I did not use this jacket in the rain but i know i need rain gear. I dont think any jacket is really waterproof even if they say so.
Yes i would buy this again.

Pour Quality

Matthew in New Brunswick

Comments On Jul 04, 2013:I bought this jacket and matching pants to replace my other gear which I used for 8 years. The gear has great features and fits great but I am very disappointed with the quality. Within a month of using it, the velcro on the sleeve separated. Then within a few months of use the stitching on the front of the jacket separated leaving a hole about 3-in long. I recently went on a 2300km weekend ride and unfortunately we ran into some rain. The jacket is fine in heavy fog (common where I live) or light mist but it is NOT waterproof. Within 30 minutes of riding in rain I was soaked through to the skin.
Wouild I buy this gear again? No! It is poor quality and will not last more than a couple of years.
