Nice Idea...

Eric in CO

Comments On Dec 20, 2014:I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing....
Too small to pack anything of use. Poor construction. Poor design. No shoulder or arm protection because the shoulder cups sit in the wrong place. Takes a long time to put on and take off. Agree with other reviewer that bladder is junk.
This thing is neither a good roost protector Nor a good pack.

Fly Stingray, good idea, but...

Dan in California

Comments On Nov 18, 2014:The idea is great. I want a pack for all-day rides, with the protection of a chest protector. Wearing a pack on top of a full front-and-back chest protector/roost guard is too bulky and uncomfortable. So this seemed like the perfect solution. That is where the positives ended.
Pros: Overall idea Very comfortable (if absolutely nothing is in it) May be ok for short rides (if all you packed was water and some Skittles)
Cons: Too small to pack the essentials (water, food, essential tools, patch kit, CO2, small first aid kit, ... Skittles.
Bladder is just junk, to be replaced with CamelBak stuff. 70oz. is too small for a Summer 100 miler. Buttons on bladder compartment are weak and come open easily. When you put the full bladder in the pack it pretty much takes up all the available space. So, when you put the rest of your gear in, it becomes so rigid that it feels like you have a 2x4 under your shirt. It no longer conforms to the shape of your spine. Tool compartment material is thin and will wear out with tools bouncing about even slightly.
I am 6'2". Shoulder cups are too small and closer to your neck than your shoulders. Useless. Maybe I'm asking too much of this pack. I wanted it to work out. In the end, it is going back to the store with zero rides under its belt. Didn't even make it out of the garage. Maybe you'll have better luck.

Awesome protection

Jacob in UT

Comments On Nov 06, 2014:Great protection and versatility with removable shoulder pieces or just wear the pack. The pack could be a little bigger. Comfortable fit. Great price. Offers good roast protection. I would recommend this product.

Pretty good setup

Mark in Washington

Comments On Aug 23, 2014:Nice to have a hydration pack and chest protector in one, fits well and is comfortable for all day rides. Only complaint is the pouch/pocket setup. wish it was better for keeping stuff secure....but not a deal breaker. Clips are a little funky at first but once you get used to them they work just fine. Overall its a great setup, would buy again.

Great set up.

Comments On Aug 20, 2013:Love this set up for XC racing. The hydro pack stays in place and isn't bulky. I would like to see more sizing and color options.

A hydration pack w/a removable chest guard guard

George in California

Comments On Aug 13, 2013:The clip for the carry pouches is in the wrong place. The hydration pouch keeps coming open. Fly used really weak small snaps. If fly would move the clip strap so it closes everything together it would work a lot better. The clips that hold the chest plate on, are too big. When the chest plate is removed you can feel the buckles flapping. Also no belly strap when the chest plate is removed. On fun rides with the chest protector removed the pack moves around and when jumping it feels like it wants to fly off, keeps hitting the back of my helmet.

Ok in theory

Myles in Manitoba

Comments On Apr 18, 2013:Product is well made, and the hydration function is fine. But the back pack portion is quite useless, unless you plan on bringing the bare minimum. Not a lot of sealed zipper compartments either, it is just asking for stuff to fall out or get wet. Sorry...not for me.
