Very comfortable, but....

Justin in West Virginia

Comments On Jun 09, 2014:These boots where very comfortable, right out of the box. unfortunately, that is the only thing good i can say about them. Right out of the box i had to modify the buckles because most of the snaps wouldn't lock together. This was not really a big deal, as they worked nicely once i finished my modifications. I enjoyed the boots after that for about a year, until i went riding and both soles came off the boots. The Toe of the sole came off the left boot, and the heel of the sole came off the right boot, both the same day. The soles are just glued on, not stitched, and once they begin to break down they degrade and fall apart very quickly. I did like the boot, i just wish they would last longer.

Easy walking boot

Comments On May 05, 2014:I do a lot of tree clearing and trail work so I am frequently off the bike. In full moto style boots I found myself stumbling around too much as the boots are heavy and stiff. The Scout waterproof is a great alternative that offers good protection in a much more walkable style. I have ridden trails with lots of deep water crossings and the boots are waterproof as long as the water doesn't get over the top of the boot. The boots provide good toe/ankle/shin protection and can be worn over knee/shin guard combinations.
I have put over a 1000 miles on the boots this spring and there are no signs of wear or breakdown.
I normally wear a 11 1/2 E. In the Scouts I am wearing a 13. I tried a 12 but it was too small. The boot is a bit too long but the width is perfect. If you ride trail and have ever contemplated the need to leave a broken bike behind and walk back to the truck you should consider wearing these boots.

Nice Boot

Shawn in CA

Comments On Apr 25, 2014:Nice lightweight boot with adequate protection for dualsport or adventure touring....most pants will fit over the boot too, which is nice....would like to see this boot updated with the newer style of clamping closure that alpinestars uses on the tech 7's....Fit is pretty standard...I wear size 8.5 street shoe, and the size 8 in this boot fits perfect while wearing a thin sock...Walking in the boot is ok, but you wouldn't be going on any hikes with it...Overall I am very satisfied with the boot....when alpinestars updates the buckle closure system this boot will get 5 stars.

Awesome dualsport riding boots!

Comments On Nov 13, 2013:Very happy with these boots. Broke in very fast and are now very comfortable. Rode over 3500 miles in a dualsport adventure ride to include the Colorado back country discovery route on my BMW 1200GS.

Best all around boot

Curt in OK

Comments On Oct 11, 2012:Used mine for dualsporting LA-Barstow-Vegas in the desert on my KLR, and on the ZG1400 riding fast from San Diego to Tulsa, Rain, heat, they do well. Easy to put on and off. Had a board hit my shin at 80 mph pretty good and the boots did a better job of protecting me than I believe they were designed for. They can be a little "kloppy" to walk in, especially until they're broke in. ZG1400's are heavy and even when footing down on an oil patch, the boots never have slipped. Very long lasting boot.

great boots

Comments On May 27, 2011:They were comfortable right out of the box and are breaking in nicely. They work perfect for my dual purpose bike, and feel good on my old moto guzzi. I've been caught in the rain once and they kept me dry. Walking around in them is no problem. Love them.
