Great Kit!

john in VT – Machine this part was bought for: 2007 YAMAHA WR450F

Comments On Apr 09, 2016:I couldn't be happier with this kit. Works great and went on super easy, and I suck at electrical work. I took my time and it still only took 1.5 hours.

edward in CA – Machine this part was bought for: 2013 YAMAHA WR450F

Comments On Jun 15, 2015:Nice clean easy install. I did need to splice into the ground & go directly to the battery. Everything worked great after that. Great product.

Very easy kit to install

Jonathan in WA – Machine this part was bought for: 2012 YAMAHA WR450F

Comments On Aug 08, 2014:Great customer service from RYCO. I had one minor problem and the owner returned my call and took care of the problem within an hour or so.. The kit is very clever using stock headlight and taillight and includes a nicely done license plate bracket. I especially liked the LED turn signals with the rear signals flush mounted on the license plate bracket. The stator needed no upgrade on my 2012 since the kit was run off of AC. Check the RYCO website for applications of earlier WRs. Be aware you may need a second mirror for some states such as WA State. My WR passed its street certification first try in WA State.

Great Kit, Greater Service

Sean in OH

Comments On Apr 27, 2010:As you can read in my previous posts I was foolish enough to buy a DSA kit before I checked all the forums. It was missing a crucial part, kept blowing fuses, and I received almost non-existent help with issues. The owner immediately blamed me when I did contact him about repeatably blowing the fuse in his harness (separate from the main 15AMP Honda fuse).
I then discovered a company and owner that were the complete opposite. Roy at RYCOMOTO (My caps. not theirs) in Utah. I emailed to ask if they could salvage the DSA kit using my parts (many of which were the same as his kit).
I wanted to keep the light that replaced the stock Honda taillight with the DSA light Which has 10 LEDs and a brake light but fits in the same fender slot. His fender with large LED light was the same as used in some other kits but I wanted a stealth installation All the turn signals and the tailight were black (flush mount rears) with orange/red LEDs in keeping with the black plastic on the bike (these lights also a DSA option).
To all of these requests...WAIT FOR IT.... he replied, "Yes, I can do that send me your parts and I will fix it, mail it back and you can PAY ME WHAT IT IS WORTH TO YOU!!!
I sent $50 earnest money along with all the parts.
Every email was promptly answered, the repair was returned in less than 2 weeks along with 6 pages of instructions. I had one minor question about where to plug in a wire and a couple of stupid things I could have figured out myself in short order. He personally answered the phone in 3 rings 3 times in one day and straightened me out in a very patient manner. Most of the wiring was new and replaced the DSA wires. All long runs were a heavier than DSA wiring, no plugs to install, only 2 splice connectors to the rear tail light to get the required 12 volt power. The wiring includes an accessory plugin installed for GPS or 12v power devices and the horn connectors are there if I want to take 2 mins and install the electric horn.
Two other things. 1. The DSA kit had some very good ideas, just horrible customer relations and bad engineering. I will try to post a picture of the bike. You can hardly tell that it it is completely street legal hi/lo beam, signals, etc. 2. I sent Roy more money and a "tip" for the FANTASTIC work and help he provided. His kits are available direct from him or through Rocky Mountain ATV/Motorcycle.

Great Dual Sport Kit @ a Great Price!

Comments On Apr 19, 2009:I was a little hesitant when I purchased this kit over the one from Baja Designs, but am VERY glad I bought this one after I installed it. The main reasons I purchased this kit was that I wasn't having to pay for a new headlight/plate and I didn't have send my stator in such as I would have to do with the Baja Design kit. I was a little nervous installing the kit, due to all the electrical work, but the directions were so straight forward and made installation extremely easy. I have one complaint though: my directions weren't put together in the correct order and I didn't notice it until after 2 hours of working on the install, so pay attention to that. I guess that is my own fault for not paying attention to it though. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone.

No customer support

Comments On Mar 06, 2009:Out of the box, the hydraulic brake pressure switch was defective. Ryco does not have any contact information for help or warranty issues with the kit ? no customer support. I would not recommend this product based on the lack of customer support. Also, there are not wire disconnects to remove the sub frame of my ?08 WR450F. When I need to work on my carburetor jetting or attempt adjust the sag on the rear shock, the sub frame cannot be removed without disassembling the headlight, disconnecting the rear blinker wires, removing the gas tank, clipping all the zip ties, and pulling the blinker wires out.

Ryco #1

Comments On Apr 19, 2008:This kit is all you need to turn that dirt beast into a street beast. I have it on my 07 WR450F and it works & looks awsome. Only down fall is there isn't a sensor for the front brake, only rear, but you can do with out it. Best price of any street kits available out there. "Buy it!"

Excellent kit

Comments On Apr 11, 2008:All necessary parts are included and installs easily on my 08 WR450. Original headlamp now has high beam. Top quality components and looks stock. Preferred over other kits because there is no stator changes and uses the original headlamp and tail lamp. LED signals are bright and fit well. Takes approximately 2 hours to install and bleeding the rear brake has to be done. Highly recommended!!!
