Comments On Apr 03, 2013:This rectifier/regulator exactly what I needed to make my dual sport kit work. I bought a tusk dual sport kit but my horn wouldn't work on a/c and my battery wouldn't stay charged. Stole power from my lighting leads and everything worked great except the rectifier was using so much power my headlight was hardly on, so I hooked my headlight up to the DC power coming from the rectifier and wala! brighter than ever! This thing works great and is easy to install. Just hook up to your AC power coming from stator and hook whatever you want to the DC output. Easy as cake.

Comments On Feb 27, 2012:Well all that I can say about it is that without it My bike would not charge the battery or run my lights! Now I run a headlight and a helmet light with NO problems riding in rain, snow and dry conditions!

not universal

Comments On May 11, 2011:Heading for product states universal then after further review states its not universal. If your not running a battery you have to run a capacitor in parallel with the output. to figure out exactly what capacitor you need, you have to have a d.c. amp meter, an oscilloscope, the correct math for this and a lot of trial and error, even after the math because you have to kind of guess on some of the math to get you in the ballpark to put a test capacitor on then you have to retest and so on.This is all due to fact that the product does not rectify the power very well. on top of that ( floating ground required ) means all your accessories, battery any power your running that is d.c. cannot share the same ground as the vehicle which is a.c. If your vehicle was made for a.c. i would suggest to just leave it as a.c. this was a big waste of my money and time. In short if your not using a battery and all you circuits naturally go to ground don't buy this!

Comments On Oct 20, 2010:*Note: As of now I have not used it
The construction on this thing alone makes me trust it. It is extremely heavy duty, I don't worry about it at all. The instructions are superb and have instructions for less than 3 amp batteries and more. Plus customer service for trail tech is awesome as well. They helped me out when I wanted to see the wiring diagram before I bought it. I don't doubt that this will work as long as I hooked it up right. Going to try it out later this week on the bike once the dual sport kit is completely installed and good to go.
