Works as designed. A must have for any DIY'r doing seal replacement. Don't half a## it and use PVC. This will give you the piece of mind that it was done correctly.

Very easy to use even for me with only one functioning hand add a 10" piece of redi rod and some oversize fender washers and you got capabilities for pull/install wheel bearings also

I think a spanner wrench is always a better option, yet in tight spaces this is the only option. Brass tip does wear quickly, yet it does keep you from damaging your spanner rings.
