Good protection for how thin it is and better then ...

I have the A-8, the previous version of this basically. This has more rib protection and wraps around the ribs a little better then the A-8. The shoulder pads are much better protection then the A-8 but not sure it’s better then say the Leatt 5.5. Overall it’s good for what it is, can fit under a shirt or jacket for ADV/dirt bike riding and a big upgrade compared to just a jacket with armor but not sure it’s more protection then some others on the market.

    Great Boot

Cant say enough about these boots. I always get 1/2 size larger in boots for a think sock. These boots fit like they were made for me. Tride other boots but always seem to come back to Alpinestars for comfort and durability.

Great boot! ...but way smaller than my Tech 7's

Worn Alpinestars boots for years, always wear a Sz-9 including the Tech 7's I'm wearing now. Gave these a try for the enduro situations, but low-and-behold, they're so small I had to curl my toes. Order a size up and you'll be golden.

    These are the THICK socks?

I'm using some old school MX long socks from 15 years ago, they are the classic very thick and fuzzy socks that go halfway up your thigh. This makes just about any knee guard comfortable enough. The new socks are what I call 'thin' socks, no bulk to them at all. If you want a thick, impact absorbent sock, look elsewhere.

    Way Better Than Expected

I wear a chest protector only when the roost at whatever track I am at is unbearable, i usually prefer not to wear one at all. With that said I need my chest protector to be pretty light and un-restricting. I have been wearing a fox proframe, and decided to try this because I like alpinestars and it looked pretty breathable. When I got it in the mail I was surprised by how sturdy it was, and after wearing it I was surprised by how comfortable it was. I like the strap system, and I wear it over the jersey and it still looks good. I am 5 foot 8, 155 pounds and I got the small / medium. Fits good, I wouldn't want it any smaller.
