Works well, but needs some tweaking

The instructions are horrible, and the mount doesn't fit with the stock capacitor bracket. I cut a slot in the capacitor bracket so that the Magura mount would fit, but this was not well thought out. Also, if you use the bushing supplied, the slave cylinder will bind up and the pull will be just as hard a stock and you will get a leaky slave quickly. You also will need to use some of your own M8 washers to shim the slave cylinder to get the proper free play. Also, the supplied line was shorter than the stock cable so it was very difficult to route and the clutch perch will need to be mounted farther in on the handlebars to avoid binding when turning left. After all the tweaking and fiddling I finally got it set up to where it works and the pull is easier than stock, maybe 30% less pull force required, but this product is not very bike specific like they say it is and you will need to modify both your bike and teh Magura system in order to install this properly.

  • Magura Hydraulic Clutch Stainless Steel Braided Line

Magura Hydraulic Clutch Stainless Steel Braided Line

cheap metal at end of cable

this is my 2nd replacement cable. If you dump your bike and the bars fall into soft dirt it puts pressure on the line where is screws into the master cylinder, the cable snaps where it screws into the cylinder leaving you with no clutch since the fluid drains out as the cable is dangling. I have no choice put to continue to buy this line since no one else makes a repacement that has ends on the cable that is not made out of pot metal! If the ends on the cable were made out of steel, the line would possibly bend, not brake when it gets an impact. I am surprised that no one has posted this issue. I plan to call Magura and complain. None of my friends are willing to put this on their race bikes because of this issue. They laugh at me every time they see me pushing the bike off the track.
