Break in period was slow, but best way to describe is "sticky.' If it hadn't been for a bolt puncturing it, this tire still has a lot of thread after riding it daily for last 3 years and about 55k miles. Was "expensive" compared to other tires out there but I got my moneys worth in the long run and that will work for me.

From Utah to Alaska and back

I had a set of these tires mounted on my V -Strom 1000 for a Utah to Alaska trip this past July. My bike was loaded down pretty good and it pulled a small trailer. I got 7500 miles out of the rear tire at the wear bars. I would have liked more mileage but under the circumstances I'm happy. No flats, great traction on gravel, some mud, wet and dry pavement, smooth and easy on the turns. On the other hand my wive's Suzuki cruiser fitted with Metzeler ME 880 tires, still has lots to tread to wear. I would buy these tires again but I wish the 880's came in my V Strom's size.

    Any tire

Very disappointed - check to see if tire was mounted in correct rotation on the rim. If not, about 3000 miles is ALL you will get out of ANY tire. It will cause extreme wear on the front tire also. This will also cause extreme wear to both tires if the front tire is not mounted in correct rotation. Dealer who did this should have to replace both tires or give a HUGE discount for this mistake!! MY Harley dealer did a huge deal on new tires & mount & balance.

    Z8's on a 06 and 05 Blackbird 1100XX,.

87 thousand kays on Z6's and Z8's, I do ride hard, 35 thou kays on the Z6's then they changed them to Z8's, Magic tyres, Never slipped in all types of weather, Mostly mountain twistys, In all weathers. Including torrential rain and slimy roads, I even did 20 kays in a snow blizzard we got caught in, -8 Celcius, I was quite impressed with that, Will I change to some thing else, No way, I get between 10 and 15 thou kays to a rear, About Double that for a front, If they stop making the Z8, It would be the Angel GT I would go to,
