  • Alpinestars Tech 10 Replacement Sole Inserts

Alpinestars Tech 10 Replacement Sole Inserts

    Eddie in Oklahoma

    Didn't work out

Pulling the old soles off and preparing the surfaces per the directions wasn't any trouble. However, applying the soles was a pain. The insert didn't conform to the shape of the insert area, and the glue would break free even after applying pressure for a few minutes (only required 20-30 seconds according to the directions). I devised a way to hold the inserts on for a few hours, and everything finally looked like it was going to work. But 2 rides later I lost an insert and the other one was breaking loose. Dunno why I had all this trouble, but it seemed they changed to a harder compound and it wasn't molded to the proper shape. I got the right size for my boot, but I'm afraid to try this again.

  • Alpinestars Stella Andes Drystar Ladies Motorcycle Jacket

Alpinestars Stella Andes Drystar Ladies Motorcycle Jacket

    B in OR

    Runs Very Small!

Thanks to RM for the worry-free exchange. I'm usually a Medium everything, and fit in men's size 32 pants. However, I bought a Large in this jacket based on the chest measurements, which should have allowed plenty of room everywhere. Not so, couldn't get it on with the liner, even with just a Tshirt underneath. With liner removed, got it on, but really tight in the hips and chest. The jacket itself looks really well built, with soft lining around the collar for scratch-free wear. The shoulder and elbow guards are light, enough to offer a bit of protection but not too much to feel like a straightjacket. I like the pockets placed well for gloved opening/closing. I can't wait to get the X(!)-Large and test it. Will post an update! Update: Ultimately giving it 3 stars. Quality and workmanship is unmistakable. Female fit, not so much. You'll need to be small in the hips and chest to enjoy this jacket. I removed the spine and shoulder protectors as well as the liner, and it fits, but still feels like it was originally designed for a man's straight-up-n-down figure. Purchased it for wet Pacific NW dirt riding, and it will do fine, so I'm keeping it. Final update. Sadly, no matter how bad I wanted to love this jacket, it just wasn't fitting. I returned for a refund. Big thx to RMATV for the no-hassle return policy. I love A-star stuff and wanted to like it, but this was not working. If you're a straight up-n-down figure, go for it. Curvy? Keep searching. C'mon manufacturers, girls ride too, and need stuff that fits.

    Alpinestars Tech 5 Boots

I like my old Tech 6 better.

They changed the fit of these quite a bit since my old Tech 6 that finally wore out. The size 9 that I used to wear is now too long and the toe box tapers in on the medial side much more pushing in your big toe. I am a D width and my toes won't fit in here. Bad move Alpinestars. These are getting sent back.
