    Abnormally dissapointed

    I bought these to use on the trail. So I thought the small size was perfect. Of course I ended up with a flat. I used these tire irons and I never got the tire off. They bent extremely easily. I had to limp back on the flat and use the full size irons. I threw them away.

    Runs small in width

    K760 Trakmaster II 100/90X19 runs almost 1/2" narrower than the same size Dunlop MX52. Tire has worn well on terrain from the track to hard pack gravel. Would buy again for hard terrain but in a 110/90X19.

    Excellent Product- just requires a bit of learning

    I can't say enough good things about Jeff at Nuetech and his customer service. I have been running a Tubliss system for a while now, but I didn't quite understand/follow the install directions EXACTLY and therefore ended up ruining one of the high pressure bladders. When I went to reinstall a new one and found that the tire bead was not sealing perfectly well, I emailed back and forth with Jeff several times. He was very patient and helped me troubleshoot the problem and I now have a perfectly-working product. I can't stand riding in the desert with regular tire pressure anymore- I am spoiled! Be very carfeul with the install and use a very generous amount of soapy water during the initial "sealing" process, then make sure you tighten the rim lock to the correct amount of force as indicated in the instructions. I thought I was following the instructions well but underestimated the amount of soapy water to use and the amount of Nm force tighten the rim lock.

    Excellent at low pressure with Tubliss

    I purchased this tire on the recommendation of Jeff at Nuetech (manufacturer of the Tubliss system). I had previously tried a Dunlop MX32 for my southern Nevada desert riding, but found that it is not well-suited to the rocky desert environment (ripped a hole in the tire pretty quickly). Jeff suggested the D908, and I was skeptical since it is a DOT legal tire..... but, at 5-6psi as he recommended, it has been outstanding in the desert and has been EXTREMELY durable with great traction. I first ran it at 9-10psi and was not impressed with the traction, but upon lowering it to 5-6psi it has been great.

Adventure Motorcycle Tires

Looking for tires to take you on your next adventure? It’s no secret that the first thing you should do is analyze your street/dirt ratio. Many riders keep their bikes almost exclusively on the street. Others take their adventure motorcycles into some pretty rough off-road environments. Decide what your needs are. And remember that your needs aren’t necessarily the same as your preferences. You might like to think of yourself as more of an off-road kind of guy, but if you honestly don’t get off the street much, then there’s no sense in straying from a street-oriented tire. Similarly, if you prefer to stick to the street but find yourself in particularly soft terrain the few times that you do go off-road, then you might want to find something a little more dirt friendly than your tendencies might suggest.

Much of the street/dirt ratio is determined by the tire’s tread pattern. Knobby tires are excellent for softer terrain as the lugs are able to dig in and find traction. Street-oriented tires feature finer and fewer grooves to keep as much of the rubber in contact with the asphalt as possible. Because such a wide variation exists with adventure motorcycle needs, you’ll find everything from near-motocross knobbies to tires similar to what you’d use on a street-only bike. Take a good look at the tread pattern and read the product descriptions. If customer reviews are available, make sure to take advantage of them! They often contain priceless gems of wisdom from other adventure motorcyclists.

One thing that’s important for adventure touring tires is longevity. How long will the tires last before you need to replace them? Several adventure touring tires are designed to go for as much as 10,000 miles. These utilize a hard rubber compound. The tradeoff is that they don’t grip as well, so you’ll want to take it easy on the extreme end of things, whether it’s high speed canyon carving or intense off-road challenges. On the other hand, several excellent adventure tires offer superior grip, but they simply won’t give great longevity. You have to decide what is important to you.
