Take a little work to fit right

Comments On Jan 23, 2016:These hand guards are good for the price, they have great protection and hold up to impacts well. I did have to do quite a bit of bending on the aluminum bar to get them to fit the contour of the handlebars. I do like that the plastic cover is replaceable for when it gets scratched up and looking bad. Overall a great product.

KX250 No more broken levers

Comments On Sep 12, 2015:I ride with my son who is on a KX250, we trail ride. Seemed every time he fell I was replacing a lever. Bough the Tusk D Flex hand guards in green to match his Kawi colors and he has fallen on them at least 20 times now and has yet to brake another lever. Besides scratching from falling and hitting trees in tight sections these have held up as good as my cycra ones. Excellent.

You get what you pay for....

Comments On Jun 26, 2015:I bought these for my wife's CRF150RB. I mounted them to ProTaper SE bars. The bars were cut down 1". I had to modify the the bar ends to fit. It took several hours to modify these to work. If the bar end mounts were shorter I would have rated these higher. The most difficult handguard I have mounted. I'll stick with Fastway or Cycra for extra money.

Best damn guards ever

Comments On Dec 25, 2014:I ride enduro in the woods of Oregon Often. Encountering everything you can imagine. If you want protection these are the ticket. These guards are mounted on all my Ktm 300s and have went down many times and have encountered tree limbs and rocks and stood up very well. Even had a head on collision with another rider and came out Great!!! I swear by them for sure!!

Good for the price, but not great

Comments On Nov 17, 2014:For the price, and the build, these are a good value.
Issues:
-Lost one bolt after the first ride. Replaced and locktighted at the hardware store. Should have come with locktight from the start.
-Good fit on the bar end, finicky fit on the inboard side. Running 7/8" Renthals.
-Durability - these things are well used and beaten. They have to be realigned after big falls as the right side wants to rotate up, and left side wants to rotate down. They tend to want to go in the direction that you tighten the bar end screw. It's a bit annoying, but livable. The right side one is bent at both ends. Think shifted inward toward the center of the bike due to a particularly hard side landing. Will bend them back out.
Remedy:
-I just ordered a set of the Cycra triple clamp mounts that I am going to try to adapt these to. Once I bend them back in place that is. That and the addition of lock tight should have them back in action. Might change out the plastic hand guard when I refresh the plastics as this is my learning bike.
Would be nice if Tusk came up with a triple clamp or bar top cap clamp option. With the value Tusk provides, and those not so difficult to innovate additions, they would be giant killers.
