Details

The Trail Tech X2 Off Road Headlight’s sleek shape houses two halogen bulbs that shine over 3,000 lumens of clear light in a 22 degree wide angle, providing enough light to be DOT on-road certified. More importantly, the X2 produces plenty of light to see what’s ahead so you don’t have to head home when the sun goes down. High and low modes are easily switched between with the bar-mounted rocker-switch and the adjustable mount lets you sight-in your light exactly where you want it. Installing the X2 is a simple affair since it secures using existing mounting points and comes pre-wired with OEM style connectors to easily hook into the stock wiring harness. Once the X2 is on your bike, feel free to go about riding as usual, the X2 won’t need any special attention. The long-lasting halogen bulbs will keep shining and the hardened glass lens won’t scratch or fog as it prevents debris from leaving you blind.

had to have it
i have a 14' husky 300 and that year of husky no one makes an aftermarket headlight housing as the stock one was worse than having a mag light with low batteries strapped to your handlebars. So i asked the guys at trail tech what i could do and they said i can run a 08-12 ktm front fender and run this headlight so i did. it was super easy to instal with some minor fitment issues. the light is awesome! Im just running my stock stator and it works just fine

An affordable solution for a light
If you need a light with some decent output for a good price this is it. It doesn't have the output of a high quality led, but it's also not priced as so.

100% more light than the number plate!
Yes it's twice the price as some of the knock offs, but the quality is top notch. The fit is spot on, the light is absolutely solid on the bike, and materials used seem very durable. While the light output is probably better than most factory lights, it's not better by all that much in my opinion. I probably wouldn't buy this to replace the headlight on my KTM if it already had one... it does however work 100% better than the number plate.

My only complaint is that I wish it came with an actual wiring diagram. It would be nice to know what the wires are if you're using with another kit and have to splice things together.

Huge improvement over stock
The easy installation and VERY noticeable improvement over the stock system made this one of the best investments in an older bike. The KTM 520's lights are powered directly off the stator - so lights only come on when engine is running - and the OEM light was barely enough to ride up my driveway. Probably not sufficient to have fun riding long distance or fast trails at night, but for the low cost it's great to get you home after dark.

I see the light!
These lights work great and take a beating. They make 3x,s the light of the stock lights. Always nice to see what your about to hit!

Pretty Good inexpensive headlight
The light is super easy to install and works pretty good. The high beam is a 35 watt bulb that is easily replaced. The low beam has not gone out yet so I'm not sure how easy that one is to replace. Sure beats the heck out of the stock KTM 690 light!

Does my 2014 KTM 300 xc need a new stator or rectifier for this light to work?
Brandon F on Oct 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I have one on an '03 KTM 300EXC and one on an '08 Yamaha WR250. Didn't need to do anything with the stator on either of those bikes but I don't know if that tells you much because your bike is much newer. I get a lot of compliments on the lights. My only hesitation at this point would be the expanding selection of LED lights. If you want cool looks and rarely ride at night, this Trail Tech is the bomb, but if you need serious light up the night stuff, maybe look into an LED handlebar mount. I don't know, I never ride at night so haven't done the research but I've seen some guys at the dunes with Rigid Industries LED's mounted on their bikes and they are impressive.
Will this work on a 2007 xcf?

Does this work on a 2014 Ktm 150 xc?
Adam M on Mar 20, 2017

Do I need to upgrade the stator on my KTM to power this light? 2014 250 xc-w
don h on Sep 6, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No, you do not need to upgrade your stator for this headlight.
Does the x2 require a rectifier and does the stator need to be rewound on a stock '16 KTM 300 WC-W?
A shopper on Aug 25, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Neither a regulator/rectifier nor rewound stator should be required for an install on your 300 XC-W. This is a direct replacement of the OEM headlight with similar power draw and OEM connectors for an easy install.
