Get the Maxxis Maxx Cross EN Tire on your bike and you’ll be ready to have fun on almost any terrain you want to run on. The Maxx Cross EN does well for two reasons. First, with such a large footprint you naturally get more contact between tire and terrain. Second, that footprint consists of a ton of large knobbies with individual sipes on each, making every knob bite and flex on the terrain.

That translates to more traction and more speed. So hold on in the straights but don’t forget that with an aggressive pattern of shoulder knobs the EN tears up the corners too. This is the kind of performance you can’t argue with. When you’re ready for dependable grip, put it down in a big way with a pair of the Maxxis Maxx Cross EN Tires on your dual sport or dirt bike.

  • An ideal choice for all off-road conditions
  • Strong carcass and long-wearing compound mean lasting performance
  • Tread pattern features widely spaced, large knobs that bite hard, shed mud and steer quickly
  • Aggressive shoulder knobs instill rider confidence in corners
  • Knob sipes enhance grip on hard terrain and rocks by increasing biting edges and knob flex
  • Maxx Cross' proven performance and quality available for big bore bikes and those seeking a larger footprint

Good for breaking and wear

Comments On Feb 25, 2016:The tire is average when leaning into corners.

Great tire

Comments On Nov 23, 2015:I find EN works best for around TN mountains with a good hook up just about everywhere no matter what terrain it is, almost like a trials tire with better breaking on steep down hills. Great price from RM.

works great in the SE woods too

Comments On Mar 23, 2015:This tire is doing just what I needed, works great on the miles of rough, rocky and fast fire roads I run to get me to the woods, then it even works great on the grass tracks, single tracks and snotty trails. Handles rough downhills too which is great for around here. Have almost 100 mi fast, rough riding and the tire shows hardly any wear. Now my go to tire for the Husky beast, ordering a spare.

Additional Comments On Sep 11, 2015:This review is for the front tire btw.

Not totally impressed

Comments On Jun 10, 2015:I decided to give these tires a shot based on the positive reviews. I do mostly trail riding in the mountains and run between 10-14psi depending on conditions. They do track well in rocks, roots, and intermediate terrain. The things I'm not so stoked on have to do with wear and traction specifically on the rear tire. Although the rear stays in line and grabs well through rocks and roots like I was saying before, it does not hook up so well on dry hard pack sections of the trail. It's hard to really be aggressive coming out of a corner because the back end wants to break lose or slide out. I will say that it's fairly predictable though. The other potential issue is wear. I'm not sure if I just didn't pay close enough attention to the knob height when it was brand new, but after only 5 hours or so, they seem pretty worn down and rounded off.

Tire was okay

Comments On Apr 29, 2015:The tire had an extremely soft carcass and had to run 14+ psi to keep from pinch flatting and rolling the sidewall of the tire. It handled pretty well, but would get loose as I transitioned into a turn then would grab once I was totally leaned over. Eventually, it developed a split that ran all the way to cords.

Maxxis EN front excellent, rear not so much

Comments On Jul 31, 2014:I bought front and rear tires for rocky jeep trails and single track. The front tire has really impressed me. It works okay in soft terrain (i.e., sand) and is great on hardpack and rocks. The side knobs do not chunk when riding at speed in very rocky terrain. This is the first tire I can say that about. The rear tire works great in rocks, and gets very good traction on hard pack, but performs so poorly in sand that it is not useable in AZ. I got hung up on hill climbs that I had never had problems with before due to the poor performance in soft terrain. I took it off after two rides, and put on an IT rear with the EN front. Nice combination for my Summer riding.

Great Desert Tire!

Comments On Apr 27, 2014:Switched from a Maxxis IT front tire, and love it! Hooks up much better on hard terrain covered with light gravel. Hooks up great everywhere else too! No flats (yet), and seems to be wearing well.

Great front tire

Comments On Feb 23, 2014:Awesome tire. Grips well (no wash outs) and is VERY durable and long lasting. My go to front tire for all my trail riding in northern Idaho.

Maxxis hit a winner!

Comments On Jan 17, 2014:Used this tire in ST. George and in Vegas, then back home in the deserts of AZ. Maxxis really has a great tire with this one.
I don't buy tires because they last for months. I buy a tire because it performs well. This performs well in a variety of terrains. It is very predictable cornering and gripping.
