The Alpinestars Corozal is a multi-season, waterproof boot that fills several rolls for both on and off road adventure motorcycling. Built as the little brother to the Astars Toucan boot, the Corozal has taken technical, hard-core adventure touring features from premium level boots and worked them into a sub 300 dollar price tag, giving the Corozal an excellent bang for the buck.

Top tier features ported over to the Corozal include an overmolded, new-school type sole that’s lugged for all-terrain traction, "arrowhead" type buckles that self-clean and are easy to manipulate with gloved hands, and Astars’ waterproof, breathable membrane that extends all the way up to the velcro calf closure.

There’s also a biomechanical hinge on the inside of each boot and large layouts of hardened TPU on the toe box, ankle, and shin. And while this protection makes the boot very stiff, comfort is maintained by high-quality interior fabrics and an excellent fit.

Together this makes Alpinestars Corozal Adventure WP Motorcycle Boots one of the best (if not the best) adventure, touring, dual sport options under 300 dollars.

      Protection
    • Medial biomechanical hinge supports ankle from both lateral and rotational forces
    • Large panels of hard TPU cover the toe box, shin, and both inner and outer ankle areas.
    • Extended PU synthetic gaiter helps seal out excessive water and dirt entry.
    • Stiff, steel shank sole provides excellent rigidity on the pegs
    • TPU shin plate and lateral ankle protector plus buckle receiver offer support and resistance for impacts.
    • Inner/Outer TPU ankle protectors have double density for protection.
    • Internal toe box and heel counter reinforcement are layered under the upper.
    • Rear reflective insert for improved visibility.

      Comfort
    • Drystar waterproof/breathable membrane seals out water, moisture, and foul weather
    • Drystar waterproof membrane extends up to the velcro closure at the calf
    • Overmolded, vulcanized rubber sole for optimal combination of comfort and grip.
    • Wide entry Velcro upper closure flap to allow wide range calf size adjustment.
    • Soft foam surrounds the ankles and collar offering comfort and shock absorbing performance.
    • TPU shift pad made with technical texture for added grip plus foam padding underneath for better comfort.
    • Instep and Achilles accordion flex zone made of soft microfibers, gives superior comfort control and support.

      Construction
    • 2 polymer buckle closure system is quick release/locking, self-aligning, and self-cleaning for precise, easy to use closure.
    • Polypropylene insole with steel shank co-injected for excellent feel and rigid comfort and safety.
    • Anatomical EVA foot bed with Lycra lining on top.
    • Upper is constructed from PU coated leather plus higher medial panel Suede leather for superior grip.
    • Front and rear bellow/articulation panels made with lightweight microfiber for more durability and abrasion resistance.
    • Dual recessed stitching used extensively across boot for superior durability and low wear

Good boot but you need to lubricate the ankle hinge
I've been using the Corozal boots for 3 months now. They are superbly comfortable and fit well for size 10 foot. Flexibility is more than my Tech 7's, so a good boot for dual sport and walking. I like the looks as well. Closure is easy and secure with two well designed buckles and Velcro top. Protection is about same as Tech 7. The ankle hinge was OK for 2 weeks then they started clicking (as many others have noted), it sounds like a loud ratcheting-grating sound. I spayed some Teflon-based lubricant into the hinge opening and flexed the boot, spraying more as required until the clicking noise stopped. Clicking is no longer an issue.

    Just OK, not great
I have the Alpinestars KTM-branded version of these boots, which are identical to those on sale here with a couple of KTM logos.
I've been using them for the past couple of months on my daily commute.

    On the positive side:
    - They are easy to get in and out of. Just two buckles and a velcro patch on the shin.
    - The protection on the shin from the TPU is good.
    - When broken in they give decent comfort.
    - I sprayed some chain lube into the hinge parts and that quickly fixed the awful out-of the box squeeking.
    - I ride a KTM 690 Enduro for my dily commute, and feel these give decent protection for that.
    - Comfortable enough to walk the short distance from the parking space to my office.

    On the negative side:
    - Overall quality is OK, not great or impressive in anyway. Basically, they are nothing special, and aside from the big AStar logo on the TPU they feel a bit on the cheap side. Very basic and functional.
    - For the price, I'm sure there are better options.
    - They are not really very breathable -- they feel a bit clammy. Alpinestars' own-brand Drystar is nowhere near as breathable as GoreTex.
    - The soles are not very grippy and not that solid for standing on the pegs.
    - For serious off-road I'd want something a big more protective, maybe even an MX boot, although that's my personal preference.

In summary, they do the job, are fine for my daily commute -- and I'll be fine using them until they wear out. But if they got lost or stolen tomorrow, I'd look for something else.

    Don't get me started
These are great looking boots!!!! It ends there.... I had to return them because I couldn't stand the irritating clicking noise coming form the side of the ankle. You can hear it every step that you take. I also found that these boots weren't comfortable while on my bike(R1200GS Adventure). If you are looking for a boot in the same price range buy the Forma Adventure Boots from RM(I have heard really great reviews about that boot from tons of different riders). Me? I went with the Alpinestars Toucans because I had RM Cash!!! They are much better. Gore-Tex/Metal Buckles/Freedom of movement is better yet you still have the awesome Alpinestars protection/ ankle support you'd expect.

    Clicking
wile the fit and performance is very good, they have a very obnoxious clicking nose coming form the Bio-mechanical lateral flexi-blade system located in the anckle. They click when you are walking in them and every body is staring at my feet. Is their a fix.

do these boots fit over riding pants..? very well without binding??
    A shopper on Dec 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: They work well for me over riding pants... no issues! Great boots, but creak still when I walk.
I have narrow feet. Are these a tight fit closer to a B width or more like a standard D width?
    Randy S on Mar 19, 2018
BEST ANSWER: These will be more of the standard fit style of boots.
