Battery
Good battery, these will last a couple of years with no problems. I just picked up a lithium battery and may never go back to the acid ones.

Great battery - with a couple setbacks
I really like this battery, this purchase was actually my 2nd. However, I was quickly reminded of the two things I really don't like about it:
1. The "fill line" is very difficult to see properly. Which on most batteries isn't a problem because the acid will settle before you charge. However, with these it doesn't very much. Which causes "bubble over" when charging for the first time. And in my case, that meant a ruined kitchen counter thanks to the acid splatter. Not a problem if you can see through it, just make sure you take your time!
2. I really don't like the terminal screws compared to other batteries. On my Polaris 570, it's hard enough to get under to connect it - let alone trying to hold those bottom nuts in place while inserting the post screws. Having a permanent thread on that post (or a square nut that held in place) would be a vast improvement.
Other than those things - the battery is the best I've used over the years in all my machines. Starts fast for years.

Pretty decent battery. Added the provided acid, charged for the recommended time on a trickle charge. Installed in my 1998 Yamaha Big Bear 350 4x4, it cranked up, worked well on my wife and I's 40 mile ride.

You can't beat a Yuasa battery. I have used others but none last nearly as long. Most will last 8 years if used regularly. Spend the few extra bucks.

Good
Just follow the instructions that come with the battery and you won't have any problems. I had to detour from them a bit because I only have a 2amp trickle charger and it call's for a 1 or 1.5, but it should work just fine. With my battery on a 1 amp charge it is supposed to take 15 hours after filling it with acid.

What kinda battery is the best for polaris ranger midsize 800, acid or without acid or what is your thoughts?
josph hank c on Nov 6, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I prefer a good old fashioned acid battery. Sure the new technology is good but an acid battery can go dead then be recharged. Some newer styles short out if they go dead and will not come back.
how does this work?
