Great tire in the sand!

Comments On Feb 11, 2015:I purchased this tire from a recommendation from a riding buddy... I mainly only ride it in the NJ sandy single track... It works awesome but does wear...

Mudder

Comments On Feb 11, 2015:If you're looking for a mud/soft terrain tire, this is it. The only drawback is it will slide on steep off camber sections. Not so much going up, but going down. These hook up very well when on the gas, but want to slide when you're not. I have one on my 500 as well. The 19" on the 250 does seem to hold a line better.

Love Hate relationship

Comments On Feb 07, 2015:I love this back tire, hooks up great all around, I ride a ton of very technical Rocks and open desert.
Why do I hate it? because i get stuck riding behind one when following. its a constant sand blast especially in sand washes. the front of my forks are actually peppered from this shovel of a back tire. I only run the 140, biggest i can get and a washougal sticky front. lifetime buyer right here.

Excellent in the mud

Comments On Jan 26, 2015:This tire is amazing in the mud. I run it with a TuBliss system at 3.5 psi and it's unstoppable. The only downside for using it with Tubliss is that it is a slightly delicate tire. I have 10 hrs on it so far and the knobs are holding up well, but I punctured it within the first 7 miles of use.

Amazing

Comments On Jan 13, 2015:When it arrived this thing looked knarly and I was hopeful that it performed half as well as it looked. I was blown away! I can't speak at all about traction on hard pack yet but in the wet leaves of the fall here in the northeast, the mud, and the snow I've been able to do everything I could do in the dry summer trails with any other tire.

BAD A!!!

Comments On Oct 08, 2014:If you want to tractor up some of the ugliest terrain and still have predictable traction every where else then this is the tire. I have about 600 miles on mine and even though its almost bald, it still has a lot of traction. The tire is awesome!!!!

Hooks Up

Comments On Oct 07, 2014:Note: This is on a. '06 Husaberg FE550e
Tried an M5B 140/80/18 for the first time last weekend at Stonyford, CA. Stonyford is super loose and dusty this time of year with hardpan underneath in places. This thing plain hooked up everywhere. Most surprising was sections I thought it wouldn't do so well (technical rocky outcrops that were not loose), I couldn't keep the front tire on the ground. Made it interesting the first few times. I had to learn a whole new level of throttle control on the big thumper.
Everywhere else it just ate up the loose, rocky hill climbs, and worked great on the fire roads which I did not expect as they were very hard packed with a thin layer of gravel or dirt over them.
Replaced a MX51 and will never go back. Now to find something as good to replace the front MX51.

Great in sand and black mud

Comments On Apr 27, 2014:Very good traction in loose sand, packed sand, wet sand, black mud, loamy soil. Good in red clay mud. Ok in rocky sections (Uwharrie) and wet roots.
This tire really hooks up. Stable, predictable, massive widely spaced lugs.
Would buy again.

Do All Tire

Comments On Mar 20, 2014:Perfect tire for all conditions, it grips no matter the conditions... Wear has been very good. I recently flipped the tire switching its direction and am still loving this tire... Yes I'll buy the MB5 again, and again...
